I don't think any of these are major game changers. Bibby might be the biggest addition, playing time wise. If Brewer can etch out a 15mpg role here, I think that's about on level with what Murphy will give Boston.
I'm just glad no bigs like Dalembert got bought out and are on their way to Miami.

Stein just tweeted that he was just informed Cavs have joined bidding for Corey Brewer. How could 11-48 Cavs be a factor? They have nearly $3.7 mil of their mid-level left.
Contenders still believed to be the top choices..

Heat/Bulls/Hornets all getting in on it per Aldridge tweet.
Hopefully we came out with more than the minimum. That'll knock some cats off.

Per Stein, Brewer in process of weighing it all after Monday night recruiting calls from Popovich, Doc Rivers and Cuban. Lakers, to date, have NOT called

Give him the MLE for 2 years. Ugh, Bulls, Heat, Hornets have joined in.
Stein just tweeted, Brewer's weighing option, Pop, Rivers and Cuban had chimed in.

Cuban, starting potential, MLE, contender, long-term potential.
You wants it, Corey...

Cavs would make sense in terms of showing him off until the end of RS with heavy minutes and a lot of available shots...

So Brewer is weighing his options between the Mavs/Celtics/Spurs only?
I'd say we have an advantage over both with the starting job, MLE, and contender status alone.

I'd say Bulls and Heat qualify as contenders. IIRC, SA still has their MLE.
Bulls (Korver)
Heat (Miller)
Celtics (JO)

Eh, I don't agree.
He's shown what he does on a crappy team, it just becomes tired head.
He needs to go to a winner and show that he can be a critical piece kind of in the mold of Ariza.

Have we heard for sure that a starting role is being offered?

Not for sure, sorry for making it seem that way.
But I would say it would almost be a sure thing of him starting IMO, should he decide to sign with us.

I guess my biggest question is, not being overly familiar with his game, what does Brewer bring us that Stevenson can't?

He has more size and is longer than Stevenson, so he can play taller guys like Durant at a higher level than Stevenson can, also at the 3 he doesn't give up the rebounding we do when Stevenson plays the 3. Also he can finish in transition.
Stevenson's defense seems to be in a funk of late imo, not just his three point shot

This is the strangest comparison, Brewer gives us length, but strength is one of his weaknesses coming out. Stevenson, probably can be a bit more physical than Brewer. Brewer is someone we can use in our zone, and Stevenson more so with a man type defense. Brewer's offensive game is cutting to the cup for lay ins and dunks, Stevenson toes the stripe.

WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Nearly a dozen teams have checked in with free agent Corey Brewer's camp and they're sorting through the suitors now.

Why all the fuss about Brewer anyway, the guy is only good for defense. His scoring sucks.

Mavs seem to have more than enough offense to compensate...

So if Brewer does come here he starts right? Where does that leave Peja and Marion? Because I still say RC will find a way to give Peja some minutes. So that would mean maybe a small minute decrease in Marion?

I don't think the Mavs can guarantee a starting spot for Brewer. Sure, he's a great defender, but homeboy needs to show what he's got. Further down the road, It would all just depend on match-ups.

Matchups...there will be games where Peja doesnt hit anything and getting destroyed at defense, then its nice bring Brewer instead of 6-5 Stevenson or Cardinal. Or if Peja/Marion are injured or in foultrouble

I just read on twitter that Al Thornton was just waited by the Wizards. I'm using my phone so I can't post a link right now.

Thornton had GSW in mind, anyway we can charge tampering there, since it does appear it was prearranged.
