Very interesting. I guess Spalding is just a G-League guy or Motley gets cut or makes the team

DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have signed forward Kostas Antetokounmpo (COAST-us ah-deh-toh-KOON-boh) to a two-way contract. In a related move, the Mavericks requested waivers on forward Jalen Jones.
Antetokounmpo (6-10, 197) was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 60th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The Dallas Mavericks acquired his draft rights and the draft rights to 56th overall pick Ray Spalding from Philadelphia in exchange for the draft rights to 54th overall pick Shake Milton. The Athens, Greece native was an early-entry candidate to this year’s draft after spending one season at the University of Dayton. In four games with the Mavericks at the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, he averaged 5.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and 12.0 minutes. The 2018-19 season will mark the second year NBA two-way contracts will be implemented. NBA teams are allowed to have up to two players under two-way contracts who will spend the bulk of the season in the NBA G League and not more than 45 days with their NBA team. Two-way players are paid a corresponding daily amount based on the number of days they play in each league. Only players with four-or-fewer years of NBA experience are able to sign two-way contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons. Jones saw action in 12 games for the Mavericks last season averaging 5.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game. |
