Barkley mentioned last night on TNT that if someone of opposing team was hot and causing devastating damages, Sir and gang would simply attack him to let him know something.
So far, many many role players have had career highs or great games against Mavs. And Jackson was just killing us. Do something for God sake. Flagrant foul? Technical foul? so what? You are gonna lose the ******* game.
Nice guys don't laugh at last in playoff. It's brutal down there (as Wang said, about NBA).

Your thoughts?

I understand his point, but I would hate to see one of our guys just plow someone. What if it caused an injury? I would like to see more of this attitude on the Mavs though.

I thought Wang said the NBA was "cruel" but your point is correct. When a role player is in the game Buckner/Wang/Griffin/Bradley/Najera then they should knock the crap out of a couple of players. Who cares if they are ejected?

assuming they get to step onto the court in the first place when that sort of play might be needed

Of course Absolutely No injuries. That should never be done or have that in mind. But if they can learn the art of hard fouls, they are closer to Champs. It looks just dumb to let a role player abusing you for a long long stretch, at the crucial moment of the game.

Thuggery--no.

Tough, aggressive, physical, intense, persistent, consistent, resistent, insistent defense--yes.
