should be 31-29 at the end of 1.
I wonder why didn't that last basket count?

Brown needs to start to playing well

Nice to see Bullock out there.
They should think about defending the three

This team has to defend the three better than this.
11 threes made for Houston on 21 attempts.

Dallas had a chance at 69-60 to blow this open but didn't. Now Houston is back in the game.

10-2 run to end the half. Houston is talented, but they're teenagers. Mavs got a ways to go before they're even average.

I don’t know who built this team but man Rockets are going to be good when they get older.

That last possession was terrible and then the transition defense was just as bad

This would be a blowout if we weren't garbage defending the three. Allowing 47% from three is embarrassing.

And that's by design as Kidd is using the length to cut off the lanes, but the idea of not defending the 3 is flawed.

Mavs gotta build a 8+ point lead, because we’ve allowed at least a 9-2 to end each quarter

Winning is winning, but I don't really get playing every player on the team when we don't even have a cohesive 5 man lineup yet.

I mean, Kidd is throwing spaghetti at the wall. How is he supposed to see what works if he doesn’t experiment?

Bullock should be starting over DFS. It’s not even close. 18 points in 90 minutes of play this season.
More WCS/Moses, less Powell.
KP playing horribly but gives effort on D. Of course he’s hurt again.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
Kidd is doing a good thing with playing all the players and letting the ball off of Luka's hands. Last season playoff Luka was estroyed. He had to do everything, when he was too tired no one had the confidence to do anything without Luka. This looks like is changing.
And another thing ... It was never about making it work with Luka and KP, the Mavs are just trying to up the very low price on KP.

So far the KP thing isn't off to a good start. He is shooting poorly and got hurt (back strain) again. Defense is good though.
And the relief of Luka will still need another player for that come playoff time when teams tighten up defense. Don't think for a second that he will somehow be relieved then. However, I can see helping him out during the regular season. Brunson was really solid tonight so that's a good sign.

It would have been the perfect game to run
Luka
ThJ
Bullock
DFS
KP
I don't think we need to worry about dfs vs Bullock. If they can screen and get 3-5 rebounds they have made up for the massive loss of...DP

This is why the committee thing is silly to me and will frankly disintegrate if the team starts losing.
That lineup is the one that needs to be starting. That or put DFS on the bench.
The Powell thing is just so absolutely strange to me.

Leadership council is Luka, KP, and Timmy according to a source of someone (TMac?). It seems like a corporate Nike team building thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Nico’s idea.

The game highlights suggest that it took some pretty heroic shots to beat a lowly Houston team that has lost all of their games by double digits. Not the best showing but it's a W. Lets see how that translates Thursday night when they play the Spurs - who always give them fits!

Eh I was at the game and it was never really a doubt we would get the dub. Lighten up on KP...probably more time off for a sore lower back in the 4th of a game where his shots just weren't falling. He will be fine.
Moses Brown was the biggest player on the court not named Boban. We could really have something here if he develops.
Sterling Brown is lost on this team, he's got to find a role behind THJ because the 3 position is DFS and Bullock's and they played very well (more so defense and activity for Dodo).
Doncic was great, as expected. But I think he settles for the stepback perhaps a little too often. Not many in the league who can square him up. Rather see him drive at a higher clip. But then again, he could have been discouraged by so many effing missed shots on great passes...
Boban and WCS need more run and it's likely at the expense of Powell, who just looked like a straight up goober at times.
Last shoutout to Brunson. Guy has a feel for the game and plays really well at times, just need to find that consistency and not get phased out in the playoffs. Here's to more growth for him, too.

My thought's exactly....
Not sure why Powell is starting over WCS, Boban or Brown because to me all 3 of them are better than Powell.
That really is the only issue I have with the lineups right now.
BTW I'm all for Kidd playing lots of guys every night and I think unlike RC he will reward the guys who play well and not bench them for weeks for no reason at all.
Hopefully the team can continue to win these early games despite not looking really good at times.

Because I’m petty I went to glance at Pacers. They are 1-4, and have lost every third quarter this season. Doesn’t mean a ton since I’m not watching games, but it sounds exactly like a RC team.
