Default Rick C. wearing out 8 man rotatation!

What do u guys think? I just can't understand why Rick couldn't c that he needed to put in Roddy in last nite, I mean with Brook's speed it was obvious. He also should've put in Tim T. when Dirk was resting. This 8 man rotation isn't working partly because this guys r all over 30, (except J.J.B.). Also Howard and Terry continue to take too many stupid jumpshots at the wrong time. Mavs! have a deep bench and Rick continues to use the same 8. This team needs speed and it's time for Roddy to play. Especially with all the fast pt. gd's in the west. Dirk quit playing like ur scared, play with agressiveness!

1) A 30 year-old athlete is still an athlete. They arent fat slobs like the rest of us. Playing an additional 3-4 minutes in a single game isnt going to do much.

2) Thomas could use some burn and Roddy needs PT

3) Howard and Terry can all be more aggressive but Terry is an amazing jumpshooter. Thats his game.

4) Your writing is all over the damn place.

Um, why are you griping at him? He basically said the same thing about 5-10 other posters said in the gameday thread or the post game thread.

My bigger complaint is Carlisle not playing our top 8 players of the rotation. To me Roddy>Barea. I don't care what others say. Roddy's speed and defense is a huge intangible. Similar to what Harris gave us.

Thanks for the criticism. It takes so much talent to just say "bad"

The difference is that his way of saying the same thing somehow warranted the starting of a new thread.

I think this is thread worthy, even if crudely put. The small rotation and Roddy's minutes are a valid concern.

If it stayed on topic, it might be slightly worthy of thread-dom, but its just a scattershot post with bad grammar and no real thought. A small rotation is a worthy concern, but chewing up what everyone else was saying in the GDT and regurgitating it into its own thread with little to no new thought is just asking for a poster who is having a bad day to step in and criticize it, which is the case with this thread.

And even if I was having a good day when I read "Dirk quit playing like ur scared, play with agressiveness! " I'd have to be annoyed by a trollish post that suddenly transitions into the second person.

i actually thought that one of the reasons why the mavs would be awesome this year is that they have a lot of depth with players like tim thomas, humphries, roddy, etc.

it's unfortunate carlisle has deemed them unworthy to play.

While Gooden, Terry, and Barea stink it up pretty bad sometimes. Carlisle doesn't do anything about it. Defensive matchups that would suit the players you mention and Carlisle doesn't do anything about it. He is like Avery part 2.

Avery part 2? Please. You need to understand that sometimes a coach has to substitute defense for offense. That is what people aren't getting about Barea. The Mavs need Barea's offense right now more than Roddy's d. It's called balance.

Oh and Gooden and Barea just had a solid game against the Kings.

And at least Terry is contributing in other areas...4 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals vs Kings...

If Rick Carlise is not gonna let Roddy play some minutes tonight (in garbage time = wich is basically the rest of the game, after that horrible first half) - i´ll loose any hope of seeing our little frenchmen ever again this season...

I actually had this same concern but came to a pretty logical explanation. Rick is probably playing a tight rotation because the others are trade bait. Why play these guys if there's a chance they might not be with the team later on? Let’s build chemistry with the guys we know will be here, right?

The Mavs boasted their depth early on, proved it early on, and are now taking phone calls to see if they can fill holes in the roster that they feel exist.

There were talks of sending Hump and Williams to NJ to bring back Najera. Not sure that will go through because NJ is fairly poor.

I expect the rotation to include more depth after the trade deadline to rest the "30-Something" Club for the playoffs. Just my take on things.
