Default Joey Crawford is the ref tonight.. :(

The mavs are 1-15 in games with Joey Crawford as the ref. The guy is classless, rude and biased against the mavs. The sole win the mavs got with crawford reffing was the game 6 wcf against the suns the year we went to the finals and that only happened because dallas had a 20 point lead making it hard to screw us with calls.

I hope the mavs make this guy choke on his whistle tonight.....

-Mavs never had a 20-point lead in Game 6 of the 2006 WCF. In fact, they were down 17 at one point in that game before coming back in the second half to win.

-It's actually 1-16, not 1-15.

So, yes, several things wrong with the post.

Having Joey Crawford would have been really nice, that's the one who ejected Duncan for nothing and asked him to fight.

18 down in Game 6.

The error is that it was actually Game 5 Dan was reffing, which was a blowout win.

At this point there are two possibilities. Either the guy is starting to get embarrassed about his record vs the Mavs OR he sees this assignment as a sign that the NBA wants him to lead the Spurs to a victory. Either way, the outcome might not have as much to do with the teams' performances as usual.

I'm really pumped to see how the Mavs with the best road record in the NBA respond to a loss. I got a Feeling tuff juice will go off for 20 in this game.

Both dan and joey crawford are antisocial, rude arrogant biases refs. Stern needs to fire them both. Have the mavs ever played a game where both dan and joey were refs? Bet we lost that game by 50 points.

Dan Crawford is black. How do you confuse the two? Funny thing is, as soon as I saw the thread title I knew some n00b had mixed the two up. I think NBA teams should be allowed to request at least 1 ref each that cannot ref their playoff series. Dan Crawford hates us, and it's clear as day. I actually don't mind Joey usually.

Boy, this is embarrassing. There is a lot wrong. But Tim MacMahon had a small article on the subject at espndallas.com and incase you missed my post on the GDT...

Sign of doom? Danny Crawford working Game 3
April, 23, 2010 Apr 2310:52AM By Tim MacMahon

Mark Cuban's least favorite referee is the lead official for tonight's Game 3 in the Mavs-Spurs series.

Why doesn't Cuban like Danny Crawford? Well, the Mavs are 1-15 in playoff games officiated by Crawford during Cuban's ownership tenure.

Cuban has made it clear that he feels that the refs robbed the Mavs in the 2006 NBA Finals. Crawford worked a pair of tight losses during the Finals flop: Games 3 and 6, when Dwyane Wade combined to shoot 39 free throws.

It didn't help the credibility of Crawford, who will work with Dick Bavetta and Rodney Mott, when disgraced ref Tim Donaghy claimed that Crawford bragged about the Mavs' miserable record in his playoff games.

The real question is, why is Crawford doing this to Cuban. My guess is, D.Crawford was on the wrong end of Cuban making ridiculous amounts of money some time ago:

-Interests include the stock market, finances and fitness.

Dicky B concerns me just as much. He gets very "into it" if the crowd does. He likes feeding them...and getting the energy in the building up. Dan Crawford + Dicky B on the road + Manu's a little b*tch = Not looking good.

I don't care for either one of these guys. Crawford hates the Mavs and as has already been stated, Bavetta is too into himself. Hopefully, the Mavs will be focused enough tonight to overcome any biased calls that are likely to occur and get home court back!

GO MAVS!!

I hope Dick Bavetta's kind-hearted charm in his conduct may be enough to counteract the insidious foulness of Joey and Danny Crawford.

hate to post in such a sewer like this, but I think its funny that on the NBRA (National Basketball Referee Association) website, Crawford's pic is of him ejecting a certain Mavericks coach. Randomly, the background is also Vince Carter for some reason?! (!)

http://www.probasketballrefs.com/Default.aspx?tabid=80

edit: apparently the backgrounds cycle randomly, but the ejection pic is part of Crawford's profile

The only insanely false call was an offensive foul on Dirk when it was an obvious and1, but that was the other black guy that called that. other than that it seems like it was just that one in a million shot (mathematically more like one in a thousand I think) that the Mavs would go 1-17 with this guy reffing.

We've done this analysis. It is actually much less than 1/10^6 that the Mavs would go 1-17 with any given ref when you take into account their playoff record since The Diggler has been here.

What about the push off by Parker on Barea (Barea overreacted, as always, but Parker extended his arm) at the end of the game, followed by Parker going and draining a 20 footer? Or all those Ginobili and-1's?

Really hate to sound whiny, but I noticed that too. Then again, he sort of had a target on his back, what with all of us watching him so closely. So it could definitely have happened before, but we just didn't notice it.

Well, he did live up to the target on his back though..... Doesn't 1 for 17 exponentially increase the statistical improbability of that happening?

EDIT: Chances of winning the Texas Cash 5 are 435,897. The chances of Dallas winning with Dan Crawford on the Court are now over 1 in 100,000. He's getting there. Maybe he should play the lotto.
