Top 10 Players in the Association
After reading the Melo thread and people trying to decide whether Melo is a top 10 player or not got me thinking. In your opinion who are the top 10 players in the NBA today?

Dirk Nowitzki
Lebron James
Kevin Durant
Paul George
Chris Paul
LaMarcus Aldridge
Kevin Love
Kobe Bryant
Stephen Curry
James Harden
the above is my 1-10 picks and you have to go a bit further to sniff even a hint of Melo
Dwight Howard
Blake Griffin
Russell Westbrook
Damian Lillard
Anthony Davis

Basing it on who's in their prime right now..
Kevin Love
Steph Curry
Kevin Durant
Lebron James
Carmelo Anthony
Damian Lillard
Marc Gasol
Paul George
Chris Paul
John Wall/Bradley Beal *this is an equal tie*

Lebron
Durant
Griffin
Curry
Paul
Westbrook
Carmelo
Aldridge
Anthony Davis
James harden(it kills me to put him on this list but he is up here)
Anyone putting lillard is hilarious.
Edit but it's balanced out by putting gasol. Solid choice if you are going to go off the reservation

Lillard actually is on his 2nd year being ROY and offensively living up to his game. And putting Harden over Lillard is funny. Cause I know you saw what Lillard did against Houston in these 2013 playoffs.
And good choice on Anthony Davis. I was coin flipping between him and Marc Gasol. But I chose Gasol because he's overall the better player defensively and offensively.

I don't know if this top 10 rank means overall stats of how the player does. Or who you would have in the playoffs.

It's hard to make definitive lists like these, so here is the best I can do, broken down (like KG!) into tiers.
- Guys in my top 10 for sure:
LeBron
Durant
Dwight
Love
Noah
Blake
Westbrook
- Guys on the bubble:
CP3
Paul George
LMA
Dirk
- Guys definitely outside of my top 10 but in my top 25:
Harden
Bosh
Melo
DeMarcus Cousins
Steph Curry
Wade
Tony Parker
Lowry
Dragic
Wall
Al Jefferson
Ibaka
Marc Gasol
- Fringe top 10 guys that aren't there due to injury: (final status unconfirmed)
Anthony Davis
Al Horford
Rondo
Rose
Brook Lopez
Kobe
- Fringe top 25 guys with terrible flaws in their games that cannot be ignored:
Kyrie Irving
Damian Lillard
Hibbert
DeRozan
Rubio
Drummond
Josh Smith
I'm sure I'm omitting at least one or two very obvious players, but that's sort of how things look now.

I'd easily go for Noah top 10. But tough to make my list if basing on offensive production. We should do a top 10 offensive and top 10 defensive.

I lean more towards two-way players with the most complete games, but a dominating offensive player who has a bigger impact on the game on just one end could be higher on my list than a more well-rounded player who isn't as dynamic.

Dirk on a top ten list at this point is laughable. And I'm a guy that would have Dirk on a top 20 all time great list.

Lillard is every bit as bad defensively as harden and as long as he's getting these foul calls, harden is a better offensive player

I think I'm the one who started this because I called Melo a top 10 player in another thread and some people disagreed... so here's my list based on this past season...
1. Durant
2. Lebron
3. Paul
4. Howard
5. Curry
6. Griffin
7. Melo
8. Aldridge
9. Westbrook
10. Harden
--------------------
11. Love
12. George
13. Dirk
14. Noah
15. Wade
Some of y'all are crazy having guys like Noah, Beal, Wall, Lillard, Gasol in your top 10 smh...

Well, the real question is how many superstars do we have in the game nowadays? Durant, Lebron, Blake Griffin, Aldridge, Curry. These are the only superstars in the game today imo. I might be missing a couple tho. Honorable mentions; Melo and Love.

I don't disagree about Monta but I think you missed the point of the guys that I listed there.

Maybe I did, but I saw it as fringe top 25 players who have a certain flaw in their games. (Monta and his defense)

IN NO SPECIFIC ORDER
Lebron James
Dwayne Wade
Tony Parker
Kevin Durant
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard
Carmelo Anthony
Blake Griffin
Russel Westbrook
Lamarcus Aldridge
(Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose would replace Lamarcus and Westbrook, if they were healthy)

That was a tough list for me, because do you factor in the players for this season specifically? Or do you look at the past 4-5 years as a whole?
