You don't have to go after JJB's past to make an argument for why he shouldn't be part of our (on-court) future... I think Jack.Kerr makes an excellent argument for why Barea's career is likely over. Personally, I'd love to open up that roster spot for someone younger and add him to our coaching staff, where he could best be utilized at this point.

The conversation isnt about what he is to our future and more in defense of that he won't be "competent", and "he wasnt any good anyway". I dont think anyone is suggesting that he has a very big role going forward.

I
certainly hope he can coach or be a part of the staff in the future.

He won't be competent. I meant that as a player. Iv already said I'm good with them signing him so he can rehab and I'm sure he's a positive locker room influence.

He wasn't good last year before the injury. He had a .495 true shooting percentage. He's 35. I don't get how this is controversial.

True shooting % alone would have you with DP/Maxi/Jackson/Broek/Brunson getting heavy minutes. One stat alone almost never tells the story. JJ will have such a limited role it's not worth the argument really, but for what role he will have he will be competent.
