I think that dampier is just as good or better than wood defensively, but offensively his ability to catch the ball really makes him a weapon.

Haywood is clearly better blocking shots. Dampier may be very similar at plain defense, using his size and man to man techniques, but he's not as good at swatting stuff. I'll give Damp a small edge in rebounding, but Wood's better at defense and offense.
