I totally agree. Our glaring weekness now is at back up point guard. I want to keep Terry at the 2 and George is not the answer to try and run the point. If we can get Cassell, I think we might have the pieces to the puzzle that can finally get this team over the top.

Doubt Chicago would buy out Duhon, no reason, he's an UFA in the offseason. He and Pietrus are my big time, give all the money we can to those guys, guys. Those two would fill holes on this team and would surely keep us moving in the right direction for a few more years.

Duhon would be a great signing next year for a backup 1 that could easily step in for 10 games a year as a starter to rest Kidd.

Default No Cassell No Barry. Where do we go from here?

Since Cassell is going to Boston and Barry is going back to the Spurs. Who do we get now? Any other big names out there that can help us?

I mentioned this already in another thread but I heard Antoine Walker is seeking a buyout from Minny. He wouldn't be a bad roster filler.

Flip Murray is one. And there could be more buy outs, or cuts made so ya never know.

If Cassell does get bought out, and does indeed go to the Celtics (both are nothing but rumors, and opinions) then I'd say Flip should definitely be on the radar.

Well ESPN has quote about Cassell already pretty much confirming the only reason he wants out of LA is to goto Boston. Arizona Replublic already said today that Barry is going back to SA.

We shouldn't kid ourselfs.

ESPN is assuming just like the rest of us. Cassell has said nothing. There have been no "sources" indicating that Cassell will definitely head to the C's, it's just hear-say.

As for Barry, the Arizona Republic reported that his decision will come down to 1 of 2 teams. The Spurs Or Suns. No where did it say that it's a done deal and he's going to SA.

You're simply jumping to conclusions.

Your right. It's not official but I'm so confident that they are going to those two teams I'd bet my house on it.

Duhon or any sort of backup point guard would be great, I just don't see Cassell coming here with Boston as an option.

Right. At this point we are basically looking at either Flip or Justin Williams. There may be others to be released by Friday, though so we'll most likely wait until then to make a decision.

Actually, you have yet to be right about ANYTHING...

So far you've only posted inflammatory opinions that have little basis in reality - I have yet to read a single fact or critical observation from you...

As I mentioned in another post (about this very topic) - some of us don't like going through several threads to discuss a single topic (like I'm doing right now, thanks...)

I guess if someone like Duhon doesn't get cut, I guess it's either Williams or Flip.

Just to clarify. I didnt say Gasol was just as good. Acutally I said Dirk is better but Gasol is good. I also didnt say he wouldn't get any mins. I said if he keeps shooting the way he has recently then he might not get mins.
