Bell waiting
Charlie Bell is in Dallas, ready to play for the Mavericks ... but waiting. The free-agent guard said he wants to sign a 10-day contract with the Mavericks, but a commitment to play for Italy's Fabriano Basket has stalled his contract negotiations. Bell agreed to play for the pro team in Italy just before the Mavericks called earlier this week, and now he's working to get out of his contract with the foreign team.
Bell said he's fairly confident he can secure his release.
"I'm excited to be here, but I'm really not part of the team yet until this is over and done with," he said.
Briefly...
Shawn Bradley participated in practice Friday, his first full-contact activity in nearly two weeks. Bradley has been sitting with a bruised bone in his right knee but said he will be available Saturday. He said he hopes to work his way into the rotation slowly. "One of the worries I have is not to come in and disrupt the things going on," Bradley said. ... Eduardo Najera missed Friday's practice because of illness but is expected to be available Saturday.
