There's probably a worse forum for this thread, but I can't imagine what it is.

Your right. It probably won't. I'll put in one of my rhymes to end it...
I don't have a title for this one. Made it during class today:
I wonder if the land lord
goin come by today
maybe if i sell some drugs he'll just past on by
so my momma dont gotta cry
cuz
she aint got no money to pay him
working three jobs
and even the late shifts
my dad left when i was two
momma didnt know what to do
raisin four kids in a one bedroom apartment
tryin to do it herself
its hard its
a struggle but
im goin make it to the NBA
by my momma a mansion
with a view of the mountains and bay
dont get worried about no landlords
cuz theys a jerk
i got so much money that she dont gotta work
and
my dad came by after twenty years
sayin "hey son lets go by a bear"
uh excuse me sir who is you?
"its ur father son u know its me
i saw u live on ESPN
and wonderin if u wanna talk to me again"
i told my bodyguard to get this man
out of my way
cuz i dont talk to strangers
like my momma use to say...

I cant freestyle at all. I actually practice sometimes, but I suck at it. I have some of my nerdcore hiphop stuff up on youtube if you want to see it. I think I've shown it here before with less than desirable reception

Musical talent?
(his words, not mine)
Unless you can play a real musical instrument you don't have any, as far as I'm concerned.

I think "Freestyle" in text is called a "poem"-
and "buying a bear" is definitely not poetic. at least get some extra meaning into this stuff if you're going to write it. you're like the seinfeld of poems, except not quite as funny. well, funny for the wrong reasons anyway.
</end bash>

Would you consider someone who could rap well to be artistically talented, even if not musically talented?

Here's one I came up with today:
Your game is weak; you're old as a fossil,
I want you to give me a break just like John Stossel.
I know, it's short right now, but I think I can build around that.

Is a voice a musical instrument? Is the ability to write songs a musical talent? Eric Andersen has a horrendous voice, but is an incredible writer and has been performing for 40 years based solely on his ability to write.
(this, of course, coming from a person that does have musical talent...)

I made this at a different forum, and it got pretty big with a lot of people writing rhymes, etc., on there. Though I would try it here.

I had a friend in high school that would spend all day writing his "rhymes" and then make me listen to them at lunch. He was ok I guess. After highschool he joined the wrong crowd and now he's in rehab.
But then again, I went to school with a lot of white kids who thought they were gangsta and could to the whole rap thing. It's all pretty hilarious since I went to a school in the middle of the country and the population of the town we lived in was about three thousand.
Oh, and they all liked to rep the westside of C-bus, (Columbus) even though none of them ever lived there haha. Highschool was some good times.
If you guys want, I can give you a little sample of some of the greatness that comes out of my hometown.

I am fascinated by people that can do that with ease. It's like a BS artist making stuff up on the fly yet they make it rhyme. I don't care what criticism any of you have about it but that is talent.
I remember when I was convinced that I would one day kill Adam Yauch and take his place on the Beastie Boys. Maybe I should have shot for replacing Eazy of NWA (that was dark, and I was kidding).
But no, I have no such talent.

Here, The Next
See im far from perfect
but with every verse spit, i try to bolster
and raise the BAR like a kid tryin to be a lawyer.
it's no facade to surface
against Audemars, fast cars, and pearls
when you try to get your voice heard, it's worthless
so i drop a gem off just like they oysters.
in this priceless fight
where you only get ur chance on stage
if the Price Is Right
cuz it's like, to write's a vice
you grab a mic and recite
of how you sold cane, dust, and hard white
living a hard life, god trife to save
the realest came, killed n slain if they stared wrong, from a guage
when all along, they wouldn't bear arms in a heat wave.
it's no shortage of songs about this
filled with dreams, surrounded with queens
on yachts and big houses.
it's all a scheme that comes out this
foulness, vultures pray on ur comming of age
and you can't do a damn thing about it.
cuz all of these pigs
push you till ur pulling ur wig
in a biz, where ur the Last Boy Scout like Jimmy Dix.
it is, all just a numbers game
you play it and get played fam
rarely do the numbers change
so what would i have to gain?
gather the world and lose my soul
why would i succomb to fame?
stuffed from reflux
bout to bust from the pain
it's tough to digest progress
when it's just more of the same
but mane, i guess.

I dreamed one night upon my star
I flew up high, and oh so far
And didn't land, until I heard the rhyme
The people sang for me and you
So different from the world I knew
I almost grabbed a scent of the sublime
Once upon a time I heard a story
Of sailing ships and waters, cool and clean
But time was then, this is now the country
Of silhouettes and satans still unseen
It's written on their tongues, they say
That all must pass, and fade away
But what about the dreams of western skies?
Are they just echoes of the time
A mere reflection of the crime
Of flirting with the soldiers of demise?
Once upon a time I heard a story
Of sighing souls and symbols of the night
But time was then, and this is now the country
Of falling dreams, subjective wrongs or rights
I took a drink from the fleeting wine
Soared above the ancient pine
Caught a glimpse of forms of melody
How does one begin to say
Not black, not white, not even gray
But something greater than pure majesty?
Once upon a time I heard a story
Of young revolt and marching to be free
But time was then, but must this be the country
Of muffled shouts, and deadened apathy?
That dream is gone, and so am I
How many people still must die
Is all of this a naive reverie?
The strumming of the troubadour
Falls below the guns of war
He lays his words at the feet of you and me.
OK, not exactly a 'flow', but I just actually sat down and wrote a song. I've never been able to DO that before. Good grief, I'm really excited. I want to be a singer/songwriter, and I actually ACCOMPLISHED part of what that entails.

These should relate to basketball. Like this:
the Mavericks rule
they are so damn cool
to cheer another team is to be a tool
like the Rockets, who stink like stool
their inner material is soft, kind of like wool
also like their players, who spend time in the pool
i know they have a winning streak going
and their fans like to pretend theyre flowing
but im predicting a summertime crash
"houston, we have a problem", the rockets have crashed harder than an one-winged boeing

this isn't really freestyle since we're at our computers and conversing in not-real-time (what is not real time called anyways? fake time or real non-time?).
i await your silly not-free style response.

Oh well. If you write songs/freestyles, you can post them here (don't have to be related to anything).
I wrote this one, because I had a friend here in DFW got stabbed and killed in a fight.
Mom I'm Here:
Moms is crying
tears is flyin
as her son was layin out in the streets
slain with a knife that put him to sleep
forever
the Lord gained another man on his side
but the mother felt empty inside
she wanted to hold her son in her arms
but
blood is pourin
out of his side
as the cops didnt want to help him
instead just let him die
but
Mom I'm here
right by your side
I'm never goin leave you even though I died
and
even though this thing called death
took me away
I said "mom I love you"
with my last breath
Yeah
that was a fateful decision I made
but mom i know u goin make it
through this pain
because
you was always strong
told me what was right from wrong
Mom I love you so much
and days and days will go by
but just know I'm ur son
until the day you die
I will always be ur little soldier, champion
etcetera, again and again
I'll be with you
until every days end
mom I'm here...

Whatever happened to Snow?
And I know this question was raised many times in the 90s, but wtf does "licky boom-boom- down" mean??? Sounds unsanitary, if you know what I mean...

Love the wiki.
edit: based on the context of the song, "licky boom bom down" probably refers to to killing a person. Either that or having gay sex.

have you thought about taking a poery or song writing class? It may be a more appropriate place to share your poetry at 16 than to post on an opposing fan's webforum.

Wack Rappers:
Man I'm so sick
of the rap game
new dances comin out
from dudes trying to earn some fame
ya they tryin to get some dollars
but they dont know
they the reason rap might die
"do yo hands like this"
"ladies rock yo hips to this"
man i wish these new rappers
would try some lyrical ish
Soulja Boy said "superman that ho"
but SB, get yo ass out the door
you aint got no flow
ur rhymes is wack
remember the days when Dr. Dre was in the booth?
no everybody yellin out chicken noodle soup!
Uh
crank dat batman
I don't know how to rap
so imma just say it again
lets take the phrase
say it twenty times
and call it a night
another ringtone success
corporate goin love me for this
I just made millions
of a dance that aint serious
you see, ignorance is universal
cuz when u spit a tight sentence
they curse you and try to earth you
for stressing direction in a game
thats stuck in it's lane going in circles
it's all insane, spit flames to ur name
for tryin to get these dames off the corner like a curfew
only to nurse you, back to health
with the promise of wealth
but ***** getting stacks
i'd rather have knowledge of self
to advance my common man
so in common we stand
cuz today, for record play
rhymings gotta come with a dance
handicappin they raps
real n!ggaz take a stance
im at the podium, black
c0cked back, and ready to attack the scans
the revolution is here, it's no longer pro-grams
it's pro-black, it's pro-hustle
for the po' that struggle
i give it to em raw from the post
for those toting muzzles
feel the flow cuzzo, that boi crazy yo
droppin hits to counter 'retarted' sh!t
that u hearin from the Radio
this is as real as it gets
***** that ringtone sh!t
i drop raw, go hard
and if i got a chorus, i promise ill never sing on it...

Poetry in Motion bodies moving to the message
My presentation perfected, blessing the session
old school, future and present, I bring preservation
handling the pressure, pressed for time but I'm patient
back aching, from holding the weight, maintaining
whether walking in the rain or waiting at the train station
no matter the location, I'm giving my best
one hundred percent, never settling for less
got that raw type of style, get all over the track
blast automatically with verbal attack
when I drop and blow spots, a powerful impact
setting the tone with no error in my Syntax
Day by day Daily Operation, respect is Hard to Earn
I enter the spot screaming, you must learn
I emerge from the phone booth, super mc
poetry in motion move your body to the beat

Johnny
Lyrically, its just the call of the streets
some yap, other's talk is cheap
some bark, other's talk with heat
i spark with speech
young dawg diabetic, but the talk is sweet
delirious, flow serious
it's like a period
yet when i talk yall sleep
so i gotta hulk on beats
to get reactions
it's anaphylactic when im rapping
the talk is deep
get chalked if u talk to me
n!ggas off 6 feet
yall bite rhymes
i flatline, cuz i rap to eat
get wraped like a stack of meat
it's actually, all factually
no synthetic, all naturally
come correct, it's respect when i rap these streets
cuz
Johnny didn't run, Johnny got his gun
Just like everyone, in the name of God
Ahhhhh, and Johnny didn't run...
it's a reason why i talk like this
walk like this
stay focused, no hawk to flip
but off the kid
with a mouth full of spit when i cough on it
im opposite, of nice, yet i don't play it
flow vice, get sliced if you keep hating
most dated get faded
got juice, yall is just grated
not schooled, fools get abused
if you try to degrade it
i got you, gotta shoot like its gang related
lyrical a sadist till ive made it
i gotta shoot like johnny on the spot
johnny and the cops
with a glock in my lining if johnny wanna box
till the timing of it knocks
imma be rhyming till im no longer grinding on the block
n!gga what
Johnny didn't run, Johnny got his gun
Just like everyone, in the name of God
Ahhhhh, and Johnny didn't run...
