Maggette is on the block
Quote:
heard my first concrete rumblings this week that the Warriors are indeed prepared (yes, so soon) to part with their big free-agent signee, hard as it figures to be to move Corey Maggette in the first season of a five-year, $50 million contract. Maggette is one of the 90 guys who becomes eligible to be traded Monday.

We all wanted him SO bad this last offseason. Now he's available, but at a steep price. Is he worth it?
To answer my own question, I think now we can all safely say no. The Warriors overpaid for him. He would of definetely been worth the MLE, but not 5/$50mil.

After having suffered through the majority of Warriors games this season, the offense looks great until Maggette touches the ball - at which point everything stops and he either puts up a bad shot or turns the ball over.

The small-ball movement doesn't have to be overly exposed and can be used in certain situations if needed...and this is all based on a fully healthy roster, which we really haven't experienced yet.
JJB can stick to the primary backup as Kidd and maybe some spare SG minutes if necessary. He can still easily get 15 minutes per game...which is more than enough time for him to be effective.
The guys who take the hit are Wright and Green. Wright can still find some time based on the defense and versatility. Green is already hard-pressed to find minutes, so he'll pretty much be stuck at the end of the bench.
