Hey, you're the one that said he outshone everyone at the Senior Bowl, even going so far as to put it in all caps. I'm just providing some perspective from a party that was at the Senior Bowl all week, didn't go to Arkansas and doesn't have a son in the Arkansas family.

I'm not saying that Matt should be taken above any of those guys, only that his physical attributes are better than Mike Williams. What did mike williams run in the 40? What was his vert? Hands are obviously Matt's downfall, but that's just because he's only had a few months to prove he has them

It's not just his hands. Can he run routes, can he keep his head in the game when the ball isn't in his hands every play, and can he consistently beat press coverage off the line? While the measurable are important, they shouldn't be the most important thing.

Anyway, I guess when Mortensen says Jones is a great player it's just hype, but when...I don't know, Kiper says Jones isn't 1st round material, it's taken as scripture. There's a reason Kiper's considered a JOKE.

Mortensen has on obvious conflict of interest and in my opinion shouldn't even be writing about Matt Jones. Kiper's hair is a joke, but as a draft analyst he's pretty well connected. That's really beside the point here though.

And just for the record, I'm not saying that Matt Jones won't turn into a good pro. I just wouldn't take him in the first round and probably not the second either. Just too much risk for my taste...but like you said, we won't have a final verdict for a few years.

Matt Jones has 2nd round written all over him. That player with huge upside, but isn't ready to contribute right now. 1st round is for players that will start. 2nd round is for playmakers, questionable players with huge upsides, etc.

Jones, IMO, goes early 2nd round.

Question, would NO do Howard and their 3rd for the #20 in the draft?

You guys may very well be right. He might not go til the second, but from all the hype that's been going around, I just get the feeling that someone is going to take a chance on him.
