I agree, but I would like Dirk to be a 6th man.

I'd be interested in a starting 5 of:

Harris
Green or Matthews or Afflalo
Parsons
Aminu
Chandler

Dirk as 6th man focused on playing 24-26min per night.

I would be ok with that an even Barea as a starter with that defensive lineup.
The combination of Barea and any of those 3 would make up for Ellis' offense and Parsons/Aminu taking on bigger roles would make up for a good portion of Dirk's.

Who's your #1? IMHO, that starting 5 looks like a lottery team.

Dirk will be 37 at the start of next season and you're seeing the highest level of play you can expect from him going forward. With the exception of the Spurs recent success (though I'd argue they've had a #1, and are in transition to a new #1), how many recent titles do those other teams have and what do you think their chances are this year?

Lol no. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dirk off the bench next year, he has said so himself. Dude is too much of a negative defense and rebounding wise.... his shot isn't as automatic as it used to be.

Dirk has done enough for this franchise. Asking him to come off the bench is too much. I don't care if he doesn't close games or only plays 12-18 minutes but he's allowed to start until he hangs the jersey up

We owe him that much
