Mavericks Summer League 2015
Schedules have been released. News rolling in about roster. Might as well start a thread. I already bought the $10 upgrade on League Pass to watch all of these games, even if it only ends up being Anderson. Really hoping to see some Powell, Singh, Griffin, and perhaps someone new.
7/11 - 1 p.m. PT -- New Orleans vs. Dallas (Game 7)
7/12 - 7 p.m. PT -- Portland vs. Dallas (Game 21)
7/14 - 12:30 p.m. PT -- Washington vs. Dallas (Game 32)
7/15 - Tournament begins. Seeing to determine

Ray Parks to play for Dallas Mavericks in NBA summer league
Two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player Ray Parks went undrafted in the NBA rookie draft on Friday (PHL time), but not all hope is lost for his dream to play for the best basketball league in the world.
On draft night, the son of the late PBA Hall of Fame import Bobby Parks received an invitation from the Dallas Mavericks to play for them in the NBA Summer League, his agent Charlie Dy confirmed on Instagram.
Parks, who was born to a Filipino mother, missed the summer league last year due to a technicality and returned to the Philippines to play in the PBA D-League. He was also selected to play for Sinag Pilipinas in the Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) Championship and the Southeast Asian Games.
After leading the country to a championship in the SEABA tourney, the former National University Bulldog and two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player begged off national team duties in the SEA Games to pursue his NBA dream anew this year.
Parks has been making rounds working out for different NBA teams and capped his schedule with an audition for the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics on draft week.

Eric Griffin, who was a stud last summer and played for the Legends this season, will be with the Clippers during the summer league.

Boo! I don't think we necessarily had a place for him on the regular season roster, but that would have been a dynamic summer league roster of we had Anderson/Griffin/Powell out there
Any word on Powell? Anderson? Singh?

Mavs added Darius Miller (SF/PF) to their Roster. He played a couple of Seasons on the Pelicans(Hornets) Bench.
He played in Germany last season for the champions Bamberg.
I watched him live a couple of times, hes really another good allround player with a great body and long frame. Pretty similiar to Justin Anderson.

Bobby Ray Parks, Darius Miller headline Mavericks Summer League roster
Quote:
Satnam Singh
Dallas' second-round draft pick Singh is expected to spend the upcoming season in the D-League himself but will also join the summer league squad. He's a 7-foot-3 center with skill.
Bobby Ray Parks
Shortly after the draft, Dallas reached an agreement with Filipino guard Bobby Ray Parks to join the team for summer league after spending two years in the Philippine Basketball Association's D-League. Not much is known about his game among American fans but Parks, a 6-foot-4 swingman was a two-time MVP at the college level in the Philippines.
Darius Miller
Small forward Darius Miller, a 2012 NCAA champion with Kentucky, joins the Mavs squad after three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Arturas Milaknis
Milaknis, of Lithuania, is a 6-foot-4 three-point marksman and has spent most of his professional career with Žalgiris Kaunas, launching more than 400 three-point attempts last season and making 45.7 percent of them. He doesn't do much besides shoot but that skill has never been more valuable in the NBA.
Kevin Pangos
The Canadian Pangos played four years at Gonzaga, where he posted double digit scoring averages every season. He was best known for solid outside shooting and taking care of the ball -- Pangos started his senior season with a ridiculous 29:1 assist to turnover ratio and finished tied third with Kentucky's Tyler Ulis in that category.
Mohammad Bahrami
He was a Mavericks pre-draft workout visitor and the captain of the Iran basketball team. If you know anything about him, let us know.
Jeremy Tyler
The former San Diego high school star spent last season in China after starting his career in Maccabi Haifa and bouncing between stints in the NBA D-League

Pangos, Tyler and Miller will probably have outside shots to make the 15 man roster (one of them most likely)

So, no news on Koponen participating? I guess we have to extend him a contract and buy him out from his team in Europe first?
I just remembered him, and looked up this article to learn more.

Man, summer league was a little overshadowed there. For a while it was the most exciting news. Wonder when we'll finalize our roster fake LV

I don't know a lot about these guys, but I really like Darius Miller. He has good size, can hit threes from the wings, and is a good passer for a small forward. Probably not a guy that puts us over the top, but totally the type of player you want to have filling out your bench. I hope he makes enough of an impression to get a shot at one of the open roster spots.

I know a lot of people like Pango, a shooting guard from Gonzaga that can shoot. Hope he can show us something and potentially make the team as another young shooter to develop.

Agree...we could use some athleticism on this team and Griff would have been a nice potential replacement for Aminu.

Aside from the drafted ones, Tyler should be watched.

Really excited to see Powell, Anderson, and Crawford. Signh is a big boy, but might not be ready. Still, I'd like to see him go for some blocks/rebounds and perhaps practice his slow-as-silt post moves or jumpers.

I think he'd be a great piece off the bench as an instant scorer sort. He's been productive everywhere he's been and he's still young. I'm surprised he has to play in the summer league.

Tyler will most likely be the primary center next to Powell. I expect him to average 12-10 in summer league. Worth a look if we don't want Sarge.

We don't want Sarge! If we're getting someone over 30, he needs to have at least some skills!

Tyler is a 24 y.o. Sarge.
Sarge is a 30 y.o. Sarge who will turn 31 before the end of the season
Still, Sarge is an upbeat guy with good character. You don't need much more beyond that for third string center, particularly behind an iron man like Jordan.

Sarge can block shots and rebound, never really understood why he didn't get much of a shot.

Lol, he got blocked on his first shot attempt... I guess he isn't used to playing against people that are closer to him in height.

I take back any joke I may have made about Singh starting after DJ picked up his panties and left. To say he looked lost in those 3mins would be such an understatement... It's like saying the ocean has a few drops of water.

Stream messed up. Showing other summer league games, playoff highlights and commercials.
The chat is good though.

Was going to go to summer league today, but we're house shopping. The Jordan crap kind of turned me off for the week
