He's said that he plans to play 2 or 3 more years after 2014. Hasn't talked about the money yet.


I'll go 3 years, 45 mil with NTC

Would love that from a team standpoint, but not gonna happen. His agent, i mean wife, would probably kill him.

Definitely have to make the most money possible especially with such a short career arc as a professional athlete. However, I think it would serve the Mavs well not to jump the gun on any extensions. Dirk may want to play until he is 40 but not many guys in the NBA can even play after they hit 30 and after 35 the number drops precipitously. Just went to Wikipedia and they have a list of 23 active players over 35.
