Whatever. NBA twitter is bullshit. JFC, no thank you on Kyrie. Do everything you can to keep Brunson, I don't care what it costs. If he walks anyway, then at least you tried. If he walks, then go after Schroder.

Can we give Brunson a part of the franchise while we're at it? I have a piece of the championship floor he can have. ANYTHING not to get Kyrie.
*two months from now*
Man, we're gonna be so great with Kyrie next to Luka. AMIRITE??!!!!

All kidding aside, AT LEAST Kyrie only has one year left on his deal. If the Mavs actually want to clear salary, this would be good way to do it without having to give up anything of real value probably.
But dear god, the chaos and dysfunction in the meantime.

ESPN added this little nugget to the front page article.
Nets general manager Sean Marks is working with Durant and Kleiman on finding a trade, Kleiman told ESPN. The Nets, however, are not buoyed to honoring any of Durant's preferred destinations and plan to make a deal that allows them the greatest return of assets, sources told ESPN.

The NBA has just become a musical chairs of nonsense. Stars for picks then picks back for stars. Need a new CBA badly. This is becoming too commonplace and is very unstable.

....and we drink it up like kool aid....every bit of it.
These agents find a loophole in everything. You'd think they'd found something with a salary cap, than a hard cap, luxury taxes, taxpayer exceptions....it goes on and on.

KD is such a baby. I?m fine accepting whatever happens at this point.
Except Kyrie.

Brian Windhorst, on ESPN, says Durant is ?focused? on landing in Phoenix, and that one reason KD requested the trade today (before start of FA) was so that DeAndre Ayton could be included in a potential trade package. Windy notes KD?s relationship with CP3 and and Devin Booker.

We are all waiting with bated breath to hear what LeBron and KD have decided for the next NBA season. The anticipation is overwhelming.

Lebron can't be the first one that started this back in 2010....there's got to be others prior....Shaq in 96, was that as big?

I didn't realize KD had a no trade clause, but I just heard that. So he can control his destiny.

If it's already a done deal that Brunson is going to NY, then fine. No sense in going through a dog and pony show. If however, the Mavs just gave up because Cuban is being petulant, then that is not fine.
Either way, I'm honestly glad I at least don't have to worry about it anymore. Get Schroder and be done with it.

LOL never even got a meeting. That's what I've been saying. Brunson doesn't care about what we have to offer money-wise. F him. Next.

You called it. If he won't even meet with the Mavs, then fuck him.
So what's next? Obviously I want Schroder but then we have very few options for a wing and backup center?
From what we've seen, it seems the Mavs are more interested in a wing than a PG. Are we confident with Dragic at the vet min?

Wow, we can?t even make an offer? Pretty big FU to Dallas/Cuban. If he doesn?t want to be here/wants to play in NY that?s cool. This just seems childish.

I really think that Daddy Brunson is orchestrating this craziness. We will likely never know, but I wonder if Papa was concerned that a better money offer might be on the horizon, JB might be swayed and he really needs sonny boy in NY. Guilt trip? CYA because he has been telling his new boss it was a done deal? "Look son, NY has traded away a lot of assets and they really want you, I am an assistant coach, your agent and his daddy are part of the Knicks organization. You have no real choice, here. They have committed and now you need to do the right thing." Who knows, but this surreal.

Other than just being Mavs fans I don't get how Brunson is the bad guy. We could have locked him up during the season for much cheaper, I believe it was around 14 mil per year and the Mavs said NO. Anything that happened after that is on them.

I dunno, yeah the Mavs made a mistake not extending him when they had the chance, but not even giving the Mavs a meeting seems like a bitch move.

I think it was a spit in the face to give DFS a contract but balk at Brunson?.probably was the beginning of the end there.

This is 100% on Cuban for not extending his asset and for giving him a deal without RFA.
Even if Jalen demands a trade, he?s a huge asset and you get something for him
It?s not on Nico. It?s on Donnie and Cuban

I thought this happened this season, as in under Nico?
Also, I wish it was under happier circumstances, but... 10,000!! Only took 17 years.

If it really is true the Nets don't want Deandre Ayton, and it's not just posturing, it'll be really interesting to see what his marketplace looks like, because it certainly doesn't seem to be max value. Suitors drying up left and right

Mavs looking to get Javale McGee which I know SMC wanted. That would be a good lowkey move as we do need that type of big.
Yeah, I mean, imagine thinking a billionaire and our FO has nothing better to do but go to NY just to f off. Embarrassing. That's how the Knicks are run though. Congrats.

Javale has shown big time defensive chops right where we need it. Paint and rim protector who can step out and keep up with some guards. Rim roll and decent finisher. He's agile, quick and seems to have plenty of hops left. Obviously he is way more experienced now days.
Warren, Oladipo both can defend and at their best they're better than any wing we have...by quite a bit. At their worst (and healthy) they are solid back ups.
There's a few others who could work.
I'm remain unconcerned about JB.
Nico has my confidence

I'm not gonna say fuck Brunson. He went to the Mavs during the season and would have been much cheaper, and they said no. that is on the Mavs. They probably burned a bridge then and his dad is in NY.

Wasn't the only source on that Rick Brunson? That guy wanted Jalen to the Knicks no matter what. Sounds like he did that to try and make us look bad when Jalen left.
