So when does it become a problem? This is the third time this year.

Would it be better if he sat out for a week and rest it?

According to reports, its been a slightly different injury each time. And it definitely has been a problem. And given the type of player Nowitzki is, it will probably stay a problem--if he was like some players and was willing to take a couple of weeks off and rest it and let it completely heal, it might be gone, but he will probably continue to insist on playing as soon as it is still fragile but well enough to play.

I'd hate it if he finally makes the All-Star game and has to bow out to rest his ankle.

It's not Dirk's fault, it's do-de-do dumbass howard's fault for being so aloof.

I say sit him for a week. The last thing we want now is for this ankle to just be bothersome all season long. Chances are it's going to, I'm sure people here have sprained ankles before and you know it could be one of the most ANNOYING injuries ever.... So I say sit him, take our chances without him for a week or two, HOPE we can stay in fifth place and when Dirk returns we should be running on all cylinders again....

well, there's no telling (for us) whether or not the new ankle sprain needs to be rested that long..it might just be a day to day type thing
