Marc Stein: I'd love to, Annette, but I'm afraid I don't have anything promising to tell you. Everything the Mavs have tried has been roadblocked. They thought they had a Zo commitment, but Zo went with J-Kidd to Jersey. They tried to swing a Miller sign-and-trade but didn't have the tradeable pieces to get in the game. Other guys they've pursued (Pippen, Horry, even Elden Campbell) are getting richer offers from other clubs and the Mavs were/are reluctant to spend their whole $4.9 mil exception on just one of those guys. They're going to try to upgrade through trades but this summer was all about getting a legitimate center and those guys are pretty much all gone.
