Why the hell didn't Pondexter foul? Did Monty Williams tell them not to? And Speights traveled, egregiously. How can the refs not call that? 4 steps

Crowder with a great game last night and guarded James as well as he could.

Fu**in' Rondo. What a piece of crap.

Wow, Nets beat Hawks in O/T to tie up the series at 2-2.

Game 2 Griffin was a mental midget with like 3 TO's in final minute. This game he misses both of his ft's late. Deandre tip was brutal. Clips will never take that next step if Blake doesn't dominate and step up in those clutch moments.

He has a nice box score but he has to step up in those final moments. Got blocked by Duncan twice late too.

Enjoying every moment. Whats the German word for this? Schadenfreude?

I detest Blake, Chris Paul and Doc and also Matt Barnes somewhat(at least he's not a phony- he owns his creepiness- for what its worth). Also Big baby suddenly fancies himself some sort of enforcer? Just such an easy team to root against. Houston as well. I'll be actively rooting against Clippers, Rockets and Cavs the rest of the way.

I don't know if the preceding 2 posters watched game 6, but Blake dominated that game and stepped up pretty big in the 2nd half

I didn't think he dominated the game personally. He definitely stepped up in the 2nd half though. My only issue with him early in the series was that he was choking in the last few mins of each game. They have no bench. If he and CP3 don't play well they lose. But it's much more on Griffin since CP3 is way more of a pg than a scorer.

Good for the league that the Spurs lost early. Their fans are spoiled and don't watch until the conference finals anyway, so they probably won't find out about this for another couple weeks.

Harden bitching because he got stripped and then a 3 to seal the loss. I really dislike clippers but I hate rockets and clippers had no business winning this game. So awesome

Rockets came out tonight acting like their fans. Like a round 1 series win meant something. And with no CP3 it would be an easy win in game 1. On the night Harden lost the MVP he has 9 TO's. He had under 10 ft's, I'm sure Rocket fans are crying about the officials tonight.

No not this Rockets this rockets fan. They just wanted it more and played harder last night even without CP3. I admit it was embarrassing but the good
thing is that this is a seven game series. Harden cant have anymore trash games.

Isn't that exactly what he said? That Rockets were cocky and playing with less energy than they needed to?

I did not forsee Pau Gasol playing as well as he has all year for the Bulls.
His line in last nights win 21pts, 10reb, 4asts, 4blks - nice.

Maybe it takes an inference, but I'm pretty sure that implied that they were cocky after winning the first round handily and saw that CP3 was out, so they were overly confident and didn't play well, because of it.

To be clear as in my first response, this Rockets fan didn't think a first round win was anything special especially in comparison to who the Clippers played. The Clippers played a much better team.

This Rockets fan wasn't cocky and if anything I figured Clippers would be more focused and play with nothing to lose....

The only points I was making were that Rocket fans, in general, acted as if a parade was needed for a first round win vs a depleted mavs roster. If you didn't then kudos to you but I was referring to the fan base as a whole and not every single fan individually. I was then stating that the Rockets team played that exact same way. Like they had arrived. Like they proved something already. And with CP3 out it's like they already checked a big fat "W" before this game even began. Especially that fraud of a MVP candidate. Who had just found out he had lost the MVP. So instead of playing with fire and showing people they may have made a mistake, he proceeded to have 9 turnovers and was back to his old Harden ways on defense. He further showcased that if he does not get free throws against contenders his team loses. With 2 wins in the regular season vs clips he averaged 15 ft's. In the 2 losses vs clips he averaged under 6. Down 10 with 2min left he seriously just let Matt Barnes walk into the middle of the paint, because he was ball watching, catch a pass and an easy layup. Then proceeded to jog up after and turn it over for his 9th one of the game.

This is a 7 game series but if Clips are allowed to play Harden tight without the ridiculous 12-20 ft games he usually gets, then this is over in 5. Maybe 6 at most if the clips mail it in tonight after getting the split. There is a reason every team wanted to play the Mavs, Blazer or Rockets. They are simply a class below the real contenders.

Agree to disagree with the statement that Rockets fans in general were ready to throw a parade especially the Rockets fans like myself who are season ticket holders and have been the last 17 years. The majority of fans I talk with at the games were just glad to finally get out of the first round with so many disappointments in the last 15+ years and finally get one monkey off the back. Baby steps, baby steps.

Of course I wouldn't say that Harden was a fraud of an MVP since he had a great regular season and got his team to the 2nd seed even with key players with long term injuries but I would agree he needs to step it up a lot more in the playoffs. Sometimes you just have to give credit to the other team and their game plan. The Clippers aren't going to let Harden drive as there is always two folks waiting on him, but I see you failed to mentioned he still had 12 assists and didn't force much(at least shooting, turnovers different story). He let the game come to him but in doing so frustrated me with all the dang turnovers. I do want him to put his stamp more on the game and I believe he will. Unfortunately if he does and the Rockets somehow get by the 2nd round it will be because CP3 was hurt.

Oh and I guess Curry needs to give his trophy back since he didn't go out prove last night that he was the MVP fresh off of receiving the tropy? 37% shooting and 18% from the 3?

If the Rockets lose tonight there won't be anymore discussions on anything because the series will be over.....

Sometimes you just have to give credit to the other team and their game plan. The Clippers aren't going to let Harden drive as there is always two folks waiting on him,
I wasn't aware that if a team focuses on you it is an excuse for him to look uninspiring. He is the star player. Every team focuses on him. You can tip your hat to the clips if you want but he looked lifeless.

Unfortunately if he does and the Rockets somehow get by the 2nd round it will be because CP3 was hurt.
I failed to mention the 12 assists because they mean nothing with 9 turnovers. I'm not applauding a guy for 12 assists when he was 2nd worst on the team in +- to only Jason Terry. Ariza and Howard both played more mins and had a better +- so while you can argue the whole team was bad I can argue the star player was a non-factor. You can look at the box score and try to spin a 20 and 12 game as not utter trash but Don't expect a Mavs forum to be homers for Harden like that and ignore 9 turnovers, -22+- and the fact he looked like he didn't care.

He had nothing to prove. He won the MVP. Would I like for him to play better coming off the MVP yes, but again he won, he had nothing to prove. Go ahead and keep skirting the dirt under the rug and painting rose petals on James homeless but he has a reputation for being small in the playoffs in his time with Houston. He thinks of himself as the best player on the planet. He just lost the MVP. His team is in the second round for the first time. They are at home against a team missing one of 2 franchise players. I'm a Mavs fan and even I expected Harden to come out aggressive and wanting to show something, because logic dictates he would have a chip on his shoulder and would smell blood in the water with cp3 out and dominate. Not only did he not dominate he played like trash.

I argue Houston fans acted like they won something and thought game 1 would be a win with no cp3 and their team acted the same way. I'll put it this way... If Monta Ellis had a game where he had 20 points 12 assists and 9 turnovers with virtually every starter contributing more than he did regardless of box score spin, and looked THAT lifeless and carefree in a game 1 round 2 playoff game against a team missing one of it's 2 best players this forum would erupt with tons of "can't win with monta" posts. And Monta isn't anywhere near the discussion for top 5 player in the league. So you figure out how severely low Houston has it's bar set and get back to me.

Yup-Yup. 3/8 shooting 5 turnovers 6 assists. Of his 3 made shots 2 were layups with Deandre on the bench. Most of their points in the paint came when Deandre was on the bench. Yes I'd love for more Rocket fans to come here with the excuse of teams keying in on him and he is letting the game come to him when he is a MVP candidate. At this rate CP3 is going to take the entire series off.

James Frauden goes to the bench and Rockets go on a run. #MVP #PlayoffHarden

Crawford is one of the biggest frauds in the league...chucking his brain out, freezing Griffin, killing the flow

The Clippers thought it was going to be easy without Harden and had already checked another "W".

Biggest change was shutting down Griffin in 2nd half and Terrence Jones finally showing up. Dwight did his usual.

I agree clips took the foot off the gas when Harden went out. Clips need more from their role players, especially when cp3 is out. Harden got major help from his team. When he went out he had another garbage game. His team stepped up and took control of the momentum and to Harden's credit he came right in and got ft's and got his rhythm. It's still disgusting to see him have 15 ft's and Rockets as a whole to have 64. That was like 4 off a playoff record. Hack-a_____ wasn't even overly used to get to 64. Clips lost this on the boards and their awful offense in the second half. If CP3 is out you can't get killed on boards and be inefficient on offense and expect to win. Hope to see CP3 back next game.

Also don't forget Harden had the best +- for both teams at +14......
