I very well may be wrong but I don't think I saw much fire from anyone besides Dirk and Mejri.

What an overreaction. When it's a decent competitive game and we lose by 20, that I can live with. But what I was witnessing on the floor was more than just we don't have the talent to match up.

Overreaction indeed. We're just not that good. Good teams will beat bad teams. Sometimes in a slaughter. Remember all that time we spent at 9th and almost missed the playoffs?

@haralabob: OKC has offensive rebounded 44% of their misses. Ya. Thats gonna be tough to deal with.

Said it before the season-- rebounding was going to be our Achilles. The roster is just crap for defense and rebounding. I just thought our offense would be better. Then again, Mejri provides defense and Anderson is a great rebounder and above average defender. We have some pieces. Just not a single center worthy of starting a playoff game and our PG is weak. Just thought Rick would have been better at coaching. Guess not.

@espn_macmahon: Thunder 108, Mavs 70 (final). Dallas sets a franchise playoff record for fewest points in a game and narrowly avoids the worst playoff margin of defeat in team history.

Not even mad. Just glad we made the playoffs with this roster and Dirk gave a good effort.

74 was our previous worst... And that was with point shaving, crooked refs against Miami. Beat that by 4.
Also the 5th biggest blowout in both ABA and NBA history.

@tim_cato: Carlisle on not playing Justin Anderson: "Well, we were playing veterans. ... he's obviously going to play a bigger role going forward."

Not that the rebounding was good, but the Thunder rebounded 31% of their misses, not 44%.
Also, the Mavs shot the ball 82 times whereas the Thunder only took 80 shots. The FT differential was only +2 for the Thunder. The difference in the game was almost entirely shooting.

Not sure if I should direct my anger toward Cuban, Top 2 coach Rick, or Chandler Parsons. What a horrible loss. I have calmed down. We will be ok. Mavs will win Game 2 if my prediction goes through as planned.

Mark Cuban has cashed out every penny out of Dirk Nowitzki and it sad for what he has done to Dirk the last 5 years while Dirk still played at a high level. Thank you Dirk for the 2011 title. You deserve all the praise. I WILL NEVER GIVE MARK CUBAN CREDIT. One of the few mavs fans who knows it's BECAUSE OF YOU mavs have made the playoffs the last 15 out of 16 years. Cuban just came along for the ride and cashed in. Dirk thank you again for the title!!! You're the greatest player of all time in my opinion. I will cry the day you retire.

Mr Top 2 coach Rick Carlisle lost to a D-League Spurs team 5 days ago and gets blown out by 38 on National TV while he supposedly has the coaching advantage. He might not be the entire problem but he isn't the solution going forward. What has he done other than 2011? He also hates playing young players. I am getting tired of him choosing washed up vets like players like Charlie Villanueva over young guys like Justin Anderson and Dwight Powell.

We all know mavs don't ever get the Top Free Agents but getting blown out on National TV makes it even worse. No one will want to sign with us if we continue to get blown out in the PLAYOFFS!!! I just wish I knew the direction this front office was going cause nothing makes sense. Lets hope Game 2 is completely different. GO Mavs!

How's Deron Williams? Few days ago everyone was saying how great he is. How did that unmotivated loser do? Why does he always look like he doesn't give a shit? Please don't resign him.

Rick plays the vets to save his skin because he likely can't justify it if the inexperience guys lose.
Where this all backfires is that the guys you need to help you wouldn't be inexperienced if you played them more this season.
And when Anderson started, the team went on a 6 game winning streak.

I don't think that they did not care. They definitely choked though. I mean, I don't remember a team missing that many open shots. It's still only one game. Steal the next one and this becomes a distant memory.

DWill was great against Utah and a few other games. For the most past he has been okay. But last night you could see he was hurting if you paid attention...I noticed him limping walking around unconfotablly several times.

Yeah, Williams looked hurt again.
If I blamed him for anything, it's just that the guy can't seem to stay healthy. Maybe he just doesn't take care of himself enough because it seems like his physical decline came earlier than it should have. I remember how Nash changed his whole lifestyle and workout regimen halfway through his prime in order to prolong his career. Kind of wish Deron had that kind of story.

To add to that excuse by Carlisle, he said in our "biggest game of the year" Utah the veterans played well. At this point, you can only categorize his fetish for vets as insane. Overall it doesnt matter we would have lost. But Anderson and Mejri shouldve been sharing the floor early on.
No doubt in my mind, if Parsons and Dwill didnt get injured, mavs dont make the playoffs.

We've given them a false sense of security so now we need to capitalize on it.
That blowout might have been a blessing in disguise as maybe we have driven them to complacency and can hopefully steal game 2.

I kind of doubt it. As far as Durant's concerned, he seems extremely "chip-on-the-shoulder" focused this year. His post game comments seem to suggest that. He respects the Mavs. If the Mavs are going to win game 2, they are going to have to take it from team that is ready to play, imho.
Is there any chance David Lee is going to play?

I don't think it's insanity. I think it's a game he plays to challenge the inexperienced guys to be ready and pull their boot straps up when called upon. Unfortunately, good play isn't rewarded with consistent minutes. That's the part that is somehow totally lost. That and if a young guy has a bad game, then all bets are off on playing time.
You don't have to rebuild to play these guys. That's the most frustrating thing about it.

Someone just needs to send that memo to Williams who plays well when he wants to. He totally schooled his old Utah team the second to last game of the season because he wanted to stick it to them. He had no business plahing well in that game on the second night of a b2b coming off yet another injury. Now he needs to stick it to the Thunder when it matters most.
