I really am not sure. I just read that its actually been 5 years?

Since a 107-102 loss at 22-win Memphis on Friday night, the Mavericks have had their highest-scoring two-game stretch in more than five years. They won 140-116 Sunday against Phoenix, the team they eliminated from playoff contention by beating the Jazz.

The really great thing about tonight was the total team effort. Singleton = productive. Bass = productive. Barea = uber productive. Dirk, Terry, Josh, even Damp....everyone contributed tonight and was a POSITIVE factor on the court.
I realize what Wright's numbers ended up as....but still, I want to leave him out of this discussion. I am about ready to be done with him. Had the game been close, he would be catching all kinds of sh!t for things he did tonight.
Anyway, I love Singleton and Bass.
And Josh Howard tonight...vindication for so many of us aside...what an effort!

Seven steals by Howard was one of the nicest surprises all year.

Deron Williams was 5-14 with three turnovers tonight while be guarded for most of the game by........
Just sayin'. Not really understanding the angst over the dude tonight.

Fair enough.
But...That sequence where he missed a terrible 3 pointer, and then committed a foul at the the other end on a 3 point play....GRRRRR. For a while, it was like he was TRYING to sabotage his own team...
But you're right. Maybe some more patience on my part...

His D was very good. If he plays D like that every night I can deal with his putrid offense. He took some dumb shots and missed some easy ones. But with D like that, I'll let it slide. But when we play better defensive teams it's real tough having him brick open threes while Dirk is being doubled bc only 2 of our 5 starters are scoring threats.

First of all, great night for all of us Mavs fans. Props to each and everyone.
Loved how we handled Utah and how our reserves spanked their reserves bottoms. ahahahah
Props to JJB for almost leveling with D-Wills performance tonight. 3 assists shy. If D-will is special to the Jazz, then he's just JJB in Dallas. And I say that in the best way I can. This team has so much in it we just gotta focus. Really.
Clinched the last spot, again, congratulations! And F you PHX fans, all of you who rooted and supported the Mavs Fail campaign. Ya'll got what you deserve! Have a nice fishing trip.
And one more thing. Is the Shaq to Dal rumors true?

Wright was, and has been for a few months, very solid on D. His offensive game is absolutely, undeniably atrocious. If the guy could even hit 35% of the wide open 3's he takes, the Mavs would be a considerably stronger team.

Hmm. Atrocious? That's strong.
He's sooting 33% from three since the new year. I think he's gotten progressively better, personally. He is having a rough March offensively. That's for sure.

I'm sticking with atrocious, definitely. Of course, I'm using the term relative to where I think our starting SG needs to be. He is not "atrocious" in any absolute sense as to the whole NBA (i.e. he's not the 15th man for the Clippers), but I think, relative to where a guy in his position should be offensively, "atrocious" is a fairly apt term.
I'm more than willing to keep playing him, though, simply because he has been pretty damn solid on D.

Yeah but he's our starting SG in name only.
For a backup swingman/defensive specialist I'm pretty happy with him. If he ever hits the three consistently he'll be damn valuable.

8 rebounds, too. More than Dirk, Kidd, and everyone else on the team besides Damp.

Correct. Even if its sub-40%, if he could hit them in the high 30% range.
Man, why can't we combine Wright's IQ and defense, with Green's athleticism and shooting, with Barea's hustle and heart? We'd have a monster (I meant figuratively, but if we're combining body parts, I suppose it could be literal too).

Lot's and lot's o' fun at the arena last night. The wave was fun, watching the dirkster clapping in time with one of the PA songs just like any other fan was fun.
Watching the mavs kick utah's buttocks was really, really fun.
The AAC was rocking pretty good and if the team gives that kind of effort watch out brotha'!!!
Josh was a completly different player than he's been the last two years. Cubes..bringing back DA was genious. Now they need to find someone for Damp, Green and they'll be cooking.

Oh yeah, I thought of you, dude, while I was watching the Mavs crowd absolutely disgrace the AAC with "the wave"!!
Is it 1986? Are we Canadians?
The wave??? Really?

I got news pal. The wave is back and it is cool! It's a great visual that should have never gone anywhere. It mezmerizes the opposing team and mocks them in such an intimidating way.
Oh were too cool for "the wave", the 1986's and the canadiens.... whatever :P

I thought of it as a message to the Jazz. Something like "We're bored because you suck and can't make a game out of this."

It did have a little bit of that to it...the crowd was trying to entertain themselves. But honestly...a wednesday night, late game...pretty good stuff out there.

The only other time I've ever seen the wave done at the AAC (in hundreds of Stars games attended plus some Mavs) was during the NHL All-Star game in 2007 (with a largely foreign crowd, as in not from Dallas). My wife turned to me and said "What in the hell are they doing?"
