Huh, props for heads up.
No, the transfer-Sukh opens up somewhere in June. But, yes, BILD has its sources...and Christian Vander, well, ... piss poor performance vs. H$$$-heim. I admit that.
But the main issue is. Bayern Munich is looking for a 1st-class-goaly to replace Butt ( his name is really Butt) . And Wiese is an option, the 1st. option. So the Bastards will lure him with at least 4,5 million €/a, so my club has to dig for alternatives, unfortunately.

I truly wish there was more passion for Futbol in the USA!!!
I love a variety of sports and do my best not to be negative towards other sports. In addition to Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey and Tennis, I enjoy watching Futbol or Soccer (Which the term originated in Europe...but that's up for a new thread debate)...anyway, as an American, it pains me to see so many Americans disrespect the sport of Soccer.
Then to see the sports media only pay lip service to the sport. No doubt, it's a business of ratings and American fans quite simply have not bought into this great sport.
Hopefully with the World Cup coming around, we will see a Team USA have some strong success. I say this as a fan of not only Team USA, but of the sport. After all, it's clear that if Team USA does well, we will see more Americans jumping on the Soccer bandwagon.
Thus perhaps some stronger development in the MLS and a greater acceptance internationally of the American Soccer Athlete...in turn, more media coverage for U.S. soccer as well as International soccer.
Ultimately building a bigger fan base...and then the cycle continues.
That being said, there's a tendency for media to play to only top teams. In otherwords, when we watch ESPN Sports Center, for MLB we see non-stop Yankee/Red Sox coverage, in the NBA is Kobe and the Lakers, in the NFL...:-) it's Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys!!! and so forth. So in soccer we see the "MAJOR" teams or so-called super stars, but we are not exposed to additional pieces of soccer.
Thus we remain soccer idiots...
I would love to see Soccer become one of the most beloved sports in America and see some serious coverage devoted to many teams/players within soccer, so that we in the USA can be better educated on this sport.
No doubt, there will be many who dismiss my view...hell, many on here think I'm an idiot anyway, so that part doesn't matter...this is more be blowing hot air about not getting more Soccer coverage and not having the time to dig for more information to see more games, etc...
Someday, and hopefully, again, with 2010 World Cup around the corner, we can see some truly great entertainment via Soccer!!!

Well Dad,
maybe this sounds a little bluesy, but maybe it´s better not to get too deep into soccer-stuff and/or not to pick yet another sports you can easily get addicted to.
While i strongly disagree with the NBA/MLB trade and draft whorehouse, i must admit that European Soccerleagues are even worse, since over here it´s possible to buy players nearly any time during the off-season or the winter-break. So, if there is a young player coming up, the major clubs pull out a check and some cash and there he goes...and those clubs roll in the cups. Inter, AC, Barca, Sporting, Porto, Ajax, PSV,Real, ManU, Chelski, the Gunners, ManCity maybe soon - that´s it. In England, not even ´Pool can compete.
The Knicks, when i´m right here, had the biggest payroll for years and they played and play like crap. Boston, or the Lakers made it to the title.
Even the s**tty Yankees with their insane payroll have been struggling for some seasons. But unsportsmanlike behavior like the effin´ Steinbrenners display waiving Jonny Damon and the Godzilla, who both hat great impact @ the Worldseries, is hardly to be found in Soccer.
And Andy Caps nearly can´t afford soccer anymore. You have to pay about 1200 Brit-Pounds for a season ticket @ Tottenham. So there are some supporters, who quit on that shabby game and take the early flight London-Hamburg ( 30 € flight, 5 € tube, 12 € seat ) and they are better off with that. Can you imagine ?
But, i gotta go now. Kick-off at Camp nou ;-)

I think the Soccer climate is getting better over here in the states. We have ESPN2 showing EPL games. Fox Soccer Channel just got HD. Things are looking up for this sport.

Juventus Torino is considering to waive Diego *) , who has performed below Juves expectations, which is imo true. The Juves are considering to swap Diego for Franck Ribery of Bayern München. Riberys current value is about 35 mn. €, Diego´s is about 25 mn. €.
*) here busy with german D-league Singer "Connor"

I know, of all people. Rafael has always been good before Real. And the fact he didn't play very well the season before Florentino too over the reigns was probably the reason we didn't get rid of him. But this season, whenever he's had a chance he's done well.
And how about that red card for Ibra? I doubt he even gets suspended. I'm all in favor of the "actor" getting suspended a couple of games. Talk about flopping.

Spending 250 mn € on new players - advancing to the quarterfinals ... you can´t control what the ball do...
But Barcelona still has a shot - and Valencia, too ( ugh ). Tomorrows evening can end up with GD climbing on the roof.

Well, I'm sure there's some sort of law that obliges me to root against Barcelona. So let's hope.
It's a well known axiom in Brazil when it comes to soccer: "Que não faz, toma."
(If you don't score, you get scored on).
You get past the goalie and you hit the post? I'm sorry, that was a fatal mistake, Gonzalo. At 2-0 it's a different game and we play on the counter attack and probably pile it on. Oh well, Now at least they can concentrate on La Liga. Meh.

Dave Beckham is out with a torn Achilles. The accident happend on Sunday during a regular vs. Verona without influence of an opponent. Beckham is 34 years old, so this might be the end of his career.
