Default So what's your dream?

Every once in a while a have an 'Elevator' dream. No, it's not a nightmare, just a recurring annoying type of dream.

I do take elevators everyday (appartment on 13th floor, office on 10th floor, although I usually take the stairs to the office to do some exercise) and those elevators are modern, spacious and well lit.

So, what's the dream about? Basically I enter the elevator and push a button. The elevator starts going up and when it's time to stop it just goes on further up. At that time I usually think: 'Oh no! Not again...'. Sometimes I dream entering the elevator and say to myself 'OK, I am clearly awake, nothing can happen. Yeah right... Ever dreamt of being awake?

Now the elevator doesn't stop. What next? First it goes from vertical to horizontal. Have you seen the old Keanu Reeves movie where he and the other DUDE fly to the past in a telephone booth? That comes close. Now I am flying vertically. Sometimes across a cityscape. Eventually the elevator stops. But now it has become a commuter train or a subway stopping at a station. I go out and realize I am somewhere in Southeast Asia. Must be Malaysia but sometimes it's in France... So, how to go back? Take the next train in the opposite direction, right? Yeah, right! It goes somewhere else but not back into my building. I usually don't bother trying again, but explore the station and its surrounding instead. It's usually hot, tropical weather, and nothing much going on, a rather dull place. And than I wake up. I have this kind of dream quite often.

Last night I had a shorter, more exciting version. I enter a small, old, shabby dark kind of elevator that probably fits just three persons. I push a greasy button and the elevator starts slowly going up. Before I know it the ceiling starts coming down (like in a bad James Bond movie) I try to push it back, and manage to do so for a while, but than the elevator slows down, comes to a halt and then, noooooo!, it goes down again, accelerating, become faster and faster.... no brakes .... and faster, and faster and ...... BOOOOm!

and then I wake up.

I've yet to dream about 'Sex in an Elevator' but I'm looking forward to

how about you guys?

Any reoccuring dreams?

how about sharing your 'I made love to J-Lo after dunking on Shaq" fantasy?

Wish I could remember my dreams in such detail. If I ever can remember my dreams its usually within the first 15 mins after I've woken up and I usually miss a key part.

I have a recurring nightmare that goes like this: Some friends and I are exploring a nice, huge mansion, checking out all the rooms, having good time. I decide after a while that I would like to leave, only when I try to retrace my steps and find my way out, the rooms I go to have completely changed to something different, and are in different, random locations in the house.

This goes on and on, with the rooms never being the same. What sucks is that the rooms get progressively creepier the more I move through them trying to escape. (dead bodies, blood and such) The house ends up being impossible to escape, and eventually I just wake up...

Maybe those dreams where you go somewhere and can't find your way back are about having made an important irrevocable decision in the past and you are not sure anymore if that was the right decision?

Darn, I should have proposed to Elizabeth Hurley before she became famous....

Ok, I have 1 and a half dreams that I get on a regular basis. One is that I can fly. Somehow for some reason, I jump and just as I'm about to hit the ground I can levitate just like a foot above it and accelerate whichever way I want. It's awesome!

Another one is a nightmare I've had for as long as I can remember having dreams. Basically I'm a kid and I'm watching TV late at night when the channel goes off air. This happens with a countdown, which is common on Brazilian TV where they synchronize the playback of shows throughout all afiliates, but never for this. Anyway, I start seeing static. This guy who looks like the guy from Jeepers Creepers minus the wings, comes out of the TV, much like "The Ring," at which point I run the hell out of the house, the streets are dead silent. This is about the time I wake up. I've had variations of this dream, including one time where I kicked the the guy's ass, but that time I recognized what was going on and I was only halfly at sleep, which was pretty cool because I knew I was having a dream but I knew what to do in it.

I've had dreams very similar to this many times. You jump and when you are about to land, it feels like a force(invisible hand?) I can control to push me where I want to go.

Unfortunately, most of my recurring dreams lean towards the macabre.
Most recently, all of my ex-girlfriends were zombies chasing me down and the only way to stop them was to skin the faces off a la Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Default RE:So what's your dream?

This may sound strange, but ever since I was a young kid (as far back as I can remember) I've always gone to bed and dreamed about enormous robots and/or monsters destroying buildings and crushing the things I dislike. It's a common, common occurence for me to dream such dreams virtually every night, as I'll fall asleep in my bed while picturing an unstoppable horror of my imagination crushing college administration buildings, speeding ticket-happy Coppell police departments, and the cities of New York and Boston. I'm also prone to having extremely vivid nightmares that often wake me up in the middle of the night in chilled sweats and alarm, so whenever I go back to sleep after being awoken by one of these very disturbing dreams (imagining family members being killed while being helpless, being chased by bad things like ex-girlfriends or scary grandmothers, etc... ) I always try to go to back to sleep while consciously thinking about bringing a Gundam Zero or a King Ghidorrah into my dreams to wreak a brutal, terrible toll on whatever it was that was earlier disturbing me in my nightmares (I know that probably sounds bizarre)...

Not a recurring dream, but I one time dreamed that I scored two goals in an NHL game. It was absolutely the most real dream I have ever had. I was on that ice, baby. I was putting the biscuit in the basket. I heard the roar of the crowd. I felt the exhilaration. It was like I was THERE.

And I'm not even a big hockey fan. And the dream never came back. Hmmm...maybe I WAS there?

This is a very cool thread...

I kept a dream log for awhile - you're supposed to keep it on the nightstand and write everything down as soon as you wake up - if I find it I can submit some of my weirdest ones.

I seem to dream the most in the morning after my old lady leaves for work. I guess it's becuase am in REM sleep (the not so deep sleep?) or somesuch.

This morining I had a dream about our upcoming wedding day. The dream wasn't about the ceremony itself but occured during the time between the wedding and the reception. I was freaking out because I couldn't find my tux and we were already late.

I can relate to the jump/fly dream. awesome, I must have broken long jump records at least a hundred times...

I had also dreams about my teeth falling out, I am always so happy when waking up and finding that my teeth are still in place...

another recurring dream I have a lot is flying in a large aircraft and landing on busy streets with the airplane's wings always smashing into trees and lantern poles...

Another recurring dream that I have isn't really a nightmare, really, just an annoying as hell dream. You see, back when I was in middle school and early high school, I used to have a good 'ol mullet. Well, in my dream, It's present day, and for some reason I have the mullet, and I decide to go get it cut. All goes well, I get it cut, I'm happy, but about 5 mins. later, I look in the mirror and there it is again. No matter how many times I cut it, it always grows back. It is the perma-mullet. Wait, on second thought, yes, that is a nightmare. The nightmare of the worst kind...

I have two that occur all the time and I'm not sure if its a good thing. One is running from a man with a knife and a mask during Halloween night, and i kept jumping in the same damn flower pot to try and escape and he finds me everytime. Fortunately i wake up as he looks down on me with the flower pot lid in one hand as i cower in fear. Finds me every time and my mind never adjusts to hide somewhere else, what a dummy I am.

The other dream is I'm playing at an arcade in a hole-in-the-wall pizza shop and it's misty all around. I end up getting sucked into a teenage mutant ninja turtles pinball machine. This dream has been reoccuring since about age 10.

Unfortunately now that I'm typing about both of these i will have them both tonight. The flower pot will be there and Donatello will be laughing at me.

My reoccurring dream hasn't visited much lately. I'm usually running and hiding from the Nazis. It's amazing that I am not usually very afraid, and I always get away from them! I can merge into and hide in walls! I haven't figured out if they just pretend they don't see me (in order to let me go free) or I am actually invisible because sometimes there isn't time to hide very well. They never catch me.

I've had that dream where I move my feet like I'm running on air, and I can fly around. I'm fully upright as I run several feet above the ground. This is sometimes incorporated into my "Nazi-type" dreams.

This summer I had dreams that I couldn't specifically remember very well, but I would wake up feeling incredibly broken-hearted and alone. It would take half the day to feel normal again.

Had a dream that kind of made me laugh when I woke up and thought about it, I was having a dream that was pretty much a suspense/horror movie that I was watching, and the movie had a twist ending which I honestly did not see coming - in my own freaking dream/mind!! Dreams are freaking wacky.

I had a constant recurring dream for a while. I was dreaming that it was time for finals, and i just realized i had been enrolled in a class that I didn't attend all semester. I just forgot about it. So of course i'm freaking out about the class and all.

weird thing is, i had this dream off and on for about 2 years, except it was 3 years AFTER i graduated from college.

I graduated in 05 and I still have those dreams BBL. I dream that I have a class that I have totally forgotten about and haven't gone to in months, and then I start panicking when I remember it, and I fail.

I also have a recurring dream that sike hit my grandmother with his spaceship.
