Default Say we sign Deron what else can we do to improve the team?

Another member laid out the cap situation and bleak would be a kind way to say it. If we add Deron we basically have to have a team of rookies or minimum contracts. Can someone explain how the mavs could improve the team if we added Deron? If its just Deron and Dirk then a bunch of scrubs I don't know if that's the smartest way to go.

Your best hope is to create a sign and trade with Jet going to a third team, VC and trash going to another team, and D-Will coming here. That's highly unlikely, but you may be able to talk the Nets into taking Terry for a couple years at $9M per with a 3rd year completely unguaranteed.

The other alternative is to amnesty Haywood, try to find a taker for Marion, and with your new cap space, try to get two solid additional players with the space left over with Marion's slot. You also still have the $3M exception for the teams who are under the cap that you can use as well.

I'm quite certain Haywood is getting amnestied. That's 8+ mil per year gone. Should be enough to sign a couple rotational players.
