Del Harris
I know we are not supposed to still be hung up on the little weasel, but I still can't believe how big Avery's ego was/is. I just saw this on DB.com:
"Before being bumped by Avery, he was voted the NBA’s top assistant in three of the previous four seasons by NBA general managers."
I guess Avery didn't need that kind of experience on his bench last year. Oh well, good luck Professor... we will miss you

man, Carlisle must suck, too, for choosing Mario Ellie over the greatness of all things mavs, Del Harris. And Rick was never even voted COY!

Maybe Del Harris was the main reason Avery was successful in the first place? My magic 8-ball says "all signs point to yes."

haha......Maybe This team was built to succeed and Avery just sat down behind the wheel and when things got out of control he didn't have the coaching experience/skills to steer it back on course. And then Cuban Ejected his arse. Hopefully Rick and staff will utilize our guys better, we may not have a championship roster as of now, but I do know that we have more potential than what was shown.

Kind of a cool tidbit: When my family was planning on moving, we actually saw Del's house in Frisco. At first I thought it was Big Nellie's house, as all the frames on the wall were pictures including Nellie & Del. After finding out it was Del's house (his wife was extremely pleasant too), his son showed us Shaq's signed sneakers. I remember his wife saying it was most probably Del's last year in Dallas, and that they weren't sure where they were going yet.

I believe that they asked del about staying on with carlisle but he thought that it wouldn't be a clean break and wouldn't work out so he declined. I expect it was cubes wanting him to stay on as his advisor.
