How confident are you?
How are you feeling about the playoffs? At the break we are 6th.
1.5 games behind 4th
---------------------------
0.5 games from the play-in
2.0 games from being out of the playoffs
Mavs are 30th in difficulty of remaining schedule (1st easiest) (5-5 L10)
Pelicans are 28th (4-6 L10)
Wolves 12th (5-5 L10)
Warriors 16th (5-5 L10)
Thunder 26th (5-5 L10)
Of course, I would have zero confidence in us playing a one-game series against a hungry team like the Lakers or Thunder (1-2 against).

Play-in...esp if Maxi is hobbled and Kidd keeps messing around the big man rotation.
But we have two superstars, so who knows.
And we're oddly 0-6 without THJ so I guess he needs to be healthy too?

Eddie Sefko@ESefko
The Mavs have the league?s easiest remaining schedule in regard to opponent winning percentage, with 13 of their 22 games against teams currently at or below .500, including three against San Antonio and two against Charlotte.

If only we could feel confident against crappy teams...

17-16 against .500+ teams (.515)
14-13 against below .500 teams (.518)
Basically mediocre against everyone

Something interesting from that website:
Kings and Clippers are TERRIBLE against good teams. They have their 3rd/4th spot because they beat up on bad teams.
Grizz are only .500 against winning teams
The west only has three teams with winning records against .500+ teams: Nuggets, Suns, and Mavs (although last two are only one game up)

There are no great teams this year in the west. With Luka and Kyrie and hopefully a healthy Maxi? why can?t we make a run?

Because we aren't good and our coach sucks.

Lol. Yep. Our only hope is we have an incredible meshing of chemistry and coach gets out of our way.

Bill Parecels said it best years ago, "You are what your record says that you are." And the Mavs are around a .500 team and will remain that way for the remainder of the season.

I'm "glass half full"
Weakest remaining schedule in the NBA.
6 home games after the AS break.
Only 2 Back-to-Backs.
Kyrie trying to set himself up with new contract.
We got to WCF last year but our team now is better.

26th after the Spurs game.
NO is 29th and Grizz are 30th
Which is great for them because NO is 13-24 against good teams. Grizz are only 17-17

I will stick by my prediction that we will fall to the play-in (and probably lose)
Lakers-Mavs in a one-game series is not looking great for the Mavs' hopes of making the playoffs proper.

If they keep playing like this, fairly confident of a very quik exit if they do manage to get in.
The trade has been disastrous, and it's not even Kyrie's fault. When at full strength, the Mavs had been playing very well. Now we have .... this.

Watching Pacers game...and that seems to be what happened! Must have been another team chat behind closed doors. Chemistry 8lis better, lots of hand pats coming on and off the court, and
Who is that in McGee's uniform???

Pow!
It was a tough call because the race was so damn tight. We just never caught traction.
