This was the only easy game before Feb 23
And we?re down 11
To the worst team in the east and the second worst team in the league
With rest
And Pistons without Cunningham

Our second leading scorer is McGee. Let that sink in.

they've lost like 6-8 games this year because of FT shooting and that's not because of Kidd
Just guys not taking the time to work on FT shooting on their own.
That and rebounding has been a huge problem way before Kidd showed up

SD shouldn?t be starting next to Luka IMO. We need shooters, cutters, hustlers around Luka. SD is the perfect 6th man (again, IMO).

no way I'm starting anyone on this roster as currently constructed over Dinwiddie.
He has to be starting IMO
if anything I'm swapping out THJ for Green

I don?t know anything about Noel and Bey contracts, but why would Detroit do this? I know Powell is an expiring, but THJ doesn?t help their situation.

and this is why Green needs to replace THJ
in fact the defense down the stretch without Powell and THJ looked better at least for this game.
Green is the best defender on this team and should be in the closing lineup moving forward over THJ

I think they want 1st round pick for him.
That's why I think it's easier to get Bey and Noel
I'd be cool with Green and Bey being our primary wing defenders moving forward around Luka.

Depending on the asking price I could get on board with Bey/Noel.

Possibly the worst win in Mavs history. Needing Luka to score 53 is exactly what's wrong with this team. It's a huge blowout loss if he didn't play.

Why are they giving up on Bey so easily? 14 ppg good defender and he's 23? And we're getting him for a 2nd rounder?

29 minutes +17 for Green
29 minutes -9 for THJ
The dude hustles, plays defense and he can pass or dribble better than THJ
If no trades are made Kidd seriously needs to make that lineup change. Luka, Dinwiddie, Green, DFS & Wood.
THJ, Bullock, Bertans & Kleber
Ideally, they should have kept Kemba as the 3rd ball handler off the bench for 10-12 minutes.

Of course. Have you met Mavs fans before? DFS is the Worm meets Pete Maravich.

A few months back I read Dallas was interested in Bey.
He started the season slow and the article mentioned something about the Pistons having too many young wings.
Pistons? Bold Trade Asking Price For Saddiq Bey
Another name to keep an eye on is Saddiq Bey. The third-year forward out of Villanova has had an inconsistent role this season and is someone that Detroit could be open to moving. However, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the asking price is very high.
The Pistons are seeking an unprotected first-round pick in exchange for Bey, which is an asking price not many teams are going to be willing to meet. Their interest in trading him could be money-based as Bey is eligible for his rookie extension this upcoming season. If Detroit no longer sees him as part of their long-term plan, getting some value in exchange for him ahead of the deadline would make sense.

Green needs to replace THJ. Dude is good and furthermore, I'm sticking to my guns on him not being involved in any trades UNLESS we are getting a bona-fide star.
If I'm Kidd, I would have done a lot of things differently up to this point but it's another no brainer now. I'd bust up this core from the inside.

I was completely wrong on Green. Although he might never be the scorer that the incredibly short armed Bane is, his all around game, hustle and toughness just might be the right type of player to grow next to Luka over the next 3 to 5 years. You could see Green growing into a key cog in a future championship team that is retooled around a Luka/Green young core. The next step in Green's growth is to have the confidence to take the mid range floater in the lane instead of the panic toss out back to half court.

Yeah Green has the athleticism to be a difference maker. He covers up defensive lapses, makes great drives, and mostly makes smart passes. It would take a lot for me to trade him .

Let's slow down a bit. Shawn Marion was a 20 ppg All-Star and a lockdown defender, Green looks great on D but is still averaging 7.7 ppg for the season. We'll be lucky if he turns into a poor man's Marion. But I do like what I'm seeing.

Nailed it. And while in comparison from the past, THJ is supposed to be our JET, but he aint even close. You knew what you were getting from JET each time out.
Man, this just reminds me of how good that 2011 team was. In 2011, our great players were usually great and our good players were usually good. However, with this 2023 Mavs team, our great player is usually great and our good/decent players are typically not that good.

I think SD is our JET.
THJ is our Caron Butler
But unlike Caron, we are better without THJ
