Default **Official Official Super Duper 2012 Offseason Thread**

Now that the season is over. Let's talk about other moves besides possibly getting Deron Williams. Would you try and sign Oden for cheap and hope that he can give you 10-20 minutes of play?

Next season i'd love to see

PG: Deron / Kidd
SG: **** / ****
SF: Marion / ****
PF: Dirk / Wright
C: ****/ Mihnimi

**** = athletic quality guys under 30. Guys who can rebound, block shots, hustle, attack the basket, draw fouls, set screens, play D.

ps: Too bad we can't keep Jet Still a good guy off the bench.

LOL @ thread...

Ugh no @ Oden

In all seriousness, Spencer Hawes is worth a look. Was the Sixers best player earlier in the year before the Achilles injury.

Spencer Hawes worked out with Shawn Kemp all summer to try and improve his game. Hawes reminds me too much of a mobile Brad Miller though. I don't like his game all that much. The Mavs will need a center though because I imagine Haywood will be amnestied or Ian will be gone, etc. There is going to be a gap.

The Mavs sure could use Ilyasova as a bridge for a small forward or power forward. He can play besides Dirk as the 3 or play the backup 4.

I don't like this thread at all. The playoffs just started. Create such a thread after the Mavs are done playing. What is the point of this?

Just ignore it or ridicule it, it will slink back into oblivion as deserved.

I actually thought it was pretty funny. But maybe that's just because last year's real version of this thread was even more extreme and more ridiculous.

This board will be dead till November right after the Mavs are done playing... That's the point.

Pretty sure this board is going to be far from dead around the first week of July.

maybe in the off season we can solidify some glaring weaknesses.

we let chandler go, who was brilliant with his energy and interior defense in the playoffs, and berea who was very productive also in the playoffs against the lakers, thunder and heat.

not being bound to contracts with chandler and berea this off season will allow the mavs to finally have the freedom to set their sights on a center that can provide some energy and interior defense, and maybe if there is anything left we can think about a young point gaurd that we can develop into a player that can get to the basket and be productive in the post seasons for years to come. is cuban a genius or what!!!

Recent reports indicate Deron wants to re-sign in Brooklyn and Dwight has opted in for '12-'13.

Sorry, but this looks like the team we'll have in '12-'13:

Kidd/West
Terry/Carter
Marion/Carter
Dirk/Yi
Haywood/Mahinmi

Thanks, Cuban!

Mavs really need to use that 17 pick well this year.

The last really good pick they have had was Josh Howard.

We are not getting Deron after getting swept.

This mavs team is about to go into a few years of mediocre/crap basketball. Like someone else said in another post. This is an end of an era.

All Mark Cuban's fault too. We could of kept continuing it but instead we gambled on some free agents. Not mad at him though. He is still a great owner.

we are not getting deron period. total pipe dream, and to be honest, deron is not the answer.

a team that plays team ball is the answer. would deron automatically provide that?

we had it and let it walk.

He's played center the entire season and has been phenomenal. Also really the only guy out there who matches Chandler's passion.

How much cap space do we have this offseason with Haywood amnestied?

Do we have room for both Deron long term and KG short term?

Not sure if you want Garnett as your center, but yes... If you trade Marion and amnesty Haywood.

Is there any chance we could sign both Deron and Dragic? Can't Dragic play shooting guard?

We all agree Haywood must go right?

Would be nice to keep Ian though. I think he has proved he's a good backup, assuming you have a good starter, which we don't.

Sorry, but this looks like the team we'll have in '12-'13:

Kidd/West
Terry/Carter
Marion/Carter
Dirk/Yi
Haywood/Mahinmi

Thanks, Cuban!
Better off blowing it up and trading for picks. Would even Dirk want to stay then?
