NBA Sets All-Time First-Round Attendance High
NEW YORK, April 26 -- The NBA has set an all-time attendance high for the first round of the 2001 NBA Playoffs, averaging 20,966 fans per game through 14 games, it was announced today.

This year's playoff attendance average is up more than 13% versus the 2000 playoffs, and the NBA has surpassed the 275,000 attendance mark for the playoffs in just 14 games, the shortest time that mark was hit in the league's 55-year history.

The previous all-time high was set in 1998 when first-round playoff games averaged 19,083 in attendance.
