The Andrew Bynum Option
Well, now we move on looking at another center. That is Bynum. If there can be some sort of injury clause. It would be our best idea.
So far, here's most recent proof of him back in full health.

Worth taking the chance? We'll see.

He's a headcase. But an undeniably large & talented headcase.

He's missed an average of 27 games per season in his career.

I'm in. High risk, high reward. Pretty much the only tactic the Mavs can take if they truly are unwilling to rebuild and sacrifice the end of Dirk's career.

Yes, and it's also adjusted for the 66-game lockout season.

What else do we have to lose, honestly?
It's not like we're attracting any big free agents with dry powder.

Bynum and Sarge at the center rotation could be a strong force. I even think Bynum wouldn't have to be forced playing 30 minutes a game. We can just have him stored incase we need to release the arsenal.

True...it is tough to base your business plan on hitting the lottery. I think the Mavs go for him ( if he's cheap, which actually says a lot about the new Cuban way of doing business ) and I would also take a flyer on him.
They really do not have much to lose they are pretty desperate right now.

I'm hearing some people talk 3 year for 30 million with an injury clause attached. Fair?

*If* your team medical staff looks at his records and think he's got a chance to be mostly healthy most of the time, and you get sufficient guarantees against future derailments, 3/30 strikes me as a can't pass it up kind of price. He's worth much more than that when his knees are cooperating.
Guessing you got that off bleacher report or something equally unreliable, though.

The injury clause bit is total bullsh*t.
Because guess what we get in case he can't play. We get powder, and powder's not winning us any games in the twilight of Nowitzki's career.

Same here. I wouldn't even mind if we limit the minutes on Bynum too. Get himself into full motion through the 82 game season. Add a super cheap backup veteran center as insurance.

And then when our starting center is Jason Collins... championship?

Pffft. Collins is clumsy basketball wise.
I was talking Jermaine O'neal if you're hinting for an super cheap guy. Brand could even be cheap too.

All three of those are awful options.

I didn't mention Collins. But Brand or O'neal for super cheap would be as Pappavich would like to call "insurance. That's if we get Bynum.

Count me in the crowd who thinks Bynum would be a great risk but the reward is worth it. I want him, I just want to hear some contract terms...

Wright is such an coin flip IMO. I mean we could easily get Tyler Hansbrough instead. Psycho T always has a chip on his shoulder ready to fight down low for rebounds. Not to mention he's got a lot of playoff experience now.

Wright's a lot better than psycho t who chucks up terrible shots, look at his assist numbers

Psycho T gets the boards more than Wright. Haven't looked it up. But know Tyler is an quality role player bench guy to look at. Carlisle would help adjust him on those terrible shots you say. Tell him to drive inside or pass. I'm looking for bruisers down low right now if VC is running the bench.
On the plus side he can't stand the Heat just like us Mavs fans too.

To put in perspective out of 56 qualified centers.
PER: 5th
TS%: 6th
AST%: 43rd
TO%: 2nd
Rebound rate: 49th (only real negative)
Points per 48: 22.6 PPG
He's terrific and the mavs need to bring him back

I'd still roll with psycho T. Lots of playoff experience from Hansbrough especially. But like I said. Wright is a coin flip...

Please stop saying Psycho T...
Hansbrough is tough and while I'd gladly take him, but it'd have to be second option should Wright move on.

I just don't see Wright coming back. That's all. Might be wrong though. Which leads to my coin flip theory.

We have stooped this low?
This is the guy who did this:

That's who most of you want on this team to play along side Dirk. Disgusting.

i'm all in for Bynum,we have no choice.
we need a superstar to attract big FAs in 2014 and Drew is the only available...anyway right now in this situation we have nothing to lose.

Bynum just for the right price and with a health clause.
Pekovic, Gortat and Asik good options to.
Any chance to get Varejão?
