Why he makes so much sense?
he is the big time defender that can complement dirk in the post. If kidd leaves martin will leave too. He is up for an extension after the season. Also nash will be wanting an extension soon do you really want to give up 100 million for a player that will make close to 100 million in what three years.
Who is on the table?
Steve Nash- My favorite player behind dirk and najera. But to get gold you have to give up gold. Another team also might be on the list. Seattle's Desmond Mason.

why do you insist on blowing up the team? kmart looks good playing for the leastern conference. he has no jumper. he has an ok at best post game. why on earth would you trade nash for martin?
doesnt make any sense.

exactly. I think I would rather have Mason but not sure I would give up either for Nash.

I've actually thought about this trade before. I don't think it's as bad as it sounds. K-Mart can guard ANYBODY (except Shaq) and he's only getting better. I actually think he could be a perfect fit for the Mavs.
But, I couldn't give up one of the Big 3 and there's no other way to get him.

I was just throwing it on the wall. I would only blow it up if we get blown up in the playoffs.
The only guy you could get for outside the big three might be Antonio Davis and he is sliding toward 37. Or of course you could bring brian grant in here.
Bradley, Esh, Raef, Tariq, and even nick won't get you anything in return but garbage. But nash will give you something big. Two hardest positions to fill center and point guard. We have two of them. Raef and bradley can't hold k-marts jock.

He was , but he's really improved. He's #15 in the NBA now at 8.4/game. That's up from an awful 5.3 last year.

i know he's improved..but part of one year isn't enough to convince me by any means.. plus, much of it is against Leastern Conference teams

PPG 16.4
RPG 8.40
APG 2.4
EFF + 17.48
His blocks are down but thats an overrated statistic. He lead the league in flagrent fouls last year and would bring a mean streak to the paint. Good paint players are hard to come by and he isn't a liability on offense either. Whats the mavs record against the big three of LA, San Antonio and Sacramento? Its 3-6 against those teams. How many times this season have you seen a hard foul on dirk and no one would deliver a hard foul back well this guy would.
Guys that would improve the team dramatically:
Brand- restricted free agent
Big Z- Cleveland isn't that stupid
KG- first name they want is dirk. Look at their record against the elite. Ain't going to happen.
If we fall on our face which could happen against portland it would mean three consecutive second round ousts.

I am not in favor of making a trade involving Nash or Finley unless the return is much higher than Kenyon Martin. Plus, Martin really doesn't interest me. Give me a real SF, not a tweener.
