These games when Luka doesn?t play is seriously some of the most boring games to watch. Kidd has no ability to coach guys up, mix the lineups up. The offense is anemic and uninteresting to sit through.

You can blame the FO for that in my opinion.

Lively is the 2nd most important player on this team now and there is a ton of pressure on this 19yo kid.
It would help if we had a serious backup with similar size and skillsets.

Yes, Powell had an outstanding game tonight, but nobody thinks he is a serious backup who can anchor the 2nd unit defense on a nightly basis.

If we had a serious backup, Lively could play more loose and aggressive.
He has looked very timid these past 2 games like he is afraid to foul.

Get a goddamn serious backup center so Lively can go all out every night.

Wasn't really excited about this pickup because he was more of a bench player being asked to come here and start.

The problem is both DJJ and Exum are actually better fits for this team and offer more production than Williams.

I still believe Jerami Grant is the best type of addition this team could add.

It gives you solid defensive flexibility in your starting lineup with 5 legit closers.

But the mavs will most likely fuck around and try to add some guy in the jj Reddick, Davis Bertrans or Justin Holiday talent group and tell us they love our boys in blue when healthy

I don't get the Jerami Grant proposal at all. Sure, it's smart to look at guys that don't fit their team (Grant is 29 and the rest of the Blazers squad is early 20s), but he doesn't fit here.

1) Max money for 22pts, 4reb is insane. He has a terrible money-to-contribution ratio
2) His rebounding is subpar. At 6'7" and 29yo, he kind of is what he is, but his defensive rebounding is only better than Green, Curry, and Jones.
3) His defensive rating is okay. He's a lot like GWill in that he's below average height/length but a decent decision-maker.

Anyone interested in John Collins? He is a good rebounder and three point shooter and would fit well at the 4 here. He seems to be somewhat of a christian wood type of head case, but I'm more realistic in who we can acquire at this point. He is definitely buy low right now.

But for me, I'm going for a package of Bey and Capela from the Hawks. I want to get a 4 and a backup 5 to put us back into contention.

Collins is solid. I do wonder if Jazz want to keep him.I think they'd trade Markannen before Collins, but honestly either would be solid.

We're just squandering our biggest advantage with Luka. He makes us an elite offensive team. He gives us so much flexibility because he's a 6'8" PG. Then we surround him with a 6'2" guy and three 6'6" guys. I get switchability, but we have none of the length and size to clog up the middle and deter offenses from the middle.

FO seems to have an aversion to 4s and 5s. I can't remember the last time we had a legit 4. I know that position has been largely washed, but I'd just like to have SOMEONE that isn't a SF being forced to play PF.

I agree with Dal41 that we are probably looking at guards (JJ Reddick) or some cheap throw away morris type dude (Bertans esque) that will never have a role or play mins.

We will push the trade deadline where we have tons of competition and hear some company line bs for why we didnt add what everyone knows we need.
