I understand your comparison...and for the record would suggest that Brandon Roy is more of a star than Josh Howard.

oh, that's my bad. I only typed it here because this is my basketball outlet. It was built up from all my fair-weather blazer fan friends have been going on and on and on for the past few weeks about Roy and the blazers. THEY overrate roy for sure, so that's what I meant by he's overrated.

well I only brought it up because all I hear is portlanders homerisitic opinions on Roy so people in Dallas could have a much more realistic view on him (aka they know he's not the next kobe

I was merely pointing out my opinion of Roy vs. my RL friends who are blazer fans.

1. Houston loses to Memphis by a point because of a game winner at the buzzer by Rudy Gay
2. Houston gets blown out by Dallas on national TV on Thursday
3. Ron Artest goes on a roid rage and punches out the team.

He's probably the first and only player I ever heard say that. Him and Chris Webber I guess then Webber decides to sign back to him last season.

Anyone one else a little surprise that New York beat Miami? And Miami had to make a mad comeback in the 4th quarter to make the game interesting.

New York is going to win some regular season games this year. And Miami is going to suck. So I'm personally not surprised.

Memphis is giving Houston all they handle right now.

They're pretty good every year. They will be somewhat better this year.

Still, the early reports of their assured dominance of the division may have been a bit premature.

I think New York can contend for the 7th or 8th seed in the East...it's just too wide open after you get past that top level of teams in the East, it's a short list. Lee is a huge difference maker in that system now with his hustle and energy...D'Antoni will eat that up.

Denver looks like they're getting killed in the paint and boards vs Utah...dumb move to let Camby go for nothing.

Yes, many of those seats are owned by large corporations and unfortunately those people occupying the seats early on also leave early or better yet don't show up.

I think it's a real nice batch of rookies.
Oden is going to be the blemish but hey, there are some rising stars in that group for sure.

Yes, it was an ugly win, and to have a margin of victory of 11 points while playing SO out of rhythm, I guess there are worse things on opening night.

You forgot Chalmers in Miami for that list. I know people maybe aren't expecting quite as much from him, but he arguably got off to the best start - 17 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds. Not a bad night at all.
