How hard is it going to be to keep Michael Finley? I heard that he was very happy here (dallas) I really hope that he stay's put!!!!!!!I'm sure Cuban will do what he have to do to keep him-Cube's is the man, he knows what to do. I'm not going to be surprise if Shaq is playing for him one day.

he's staying, don't worry. Cuban will be very loyal to his stars, I think, and there really aren't too many opportunities out there that are more appealing to Fin right now.

He is probably going to sign a one year contract this Summer, so he can get the maximum for an eight year player next year... That will lead a lot of ignorant fans to assume that he might not resign with Dallas again in two Summers, but it is really only a money isssue...

There's no doubt in my mind Finley will re-sign. Why would he leave. He's got everthing he want's here. Money, a great owner who will stop at nothing to win a championship, great teamates(best friend Howard), an up and coming fun and exciting team, a new arena, a great sports town, and a great city to live in. Who could ask for more.

Finley will resign. Where's he going to go? Nowhere else can offer him more money than the Mavs will, so it won't be a money thing. That leaves 'winning'--after being the cornerstone of a rebuilding team for years, Finley has had a bellyful of losing. There's no way he's going to another team to go through more rebuilding. So the only teams that have a chance would be teams that are already better than the Mavs--which has narrowed to a pretty small group, none of which can really afford to chase Finley.

i would say, at best, that there's a 10% chance that finley would either leave via free agency or would be traded.
he'll be back..and he'll be here for awhile.

Of course Fin's staying! Otherwise, LAM0015 would have nothing to say around here
