There's no doubting that the Lamar Odom story has provided countless hours of analysis and speculation from everyone who covers the Mavs on every media outlet, across all formats, and in front of water coolers and on message boards throughout DFW. Now, we are finally addressing what will hopefully be the final chapter in that saga.

It comes at a critical time for the Mavs as they start a stretch of 8 games in 12 nights where playoff positioning, and maybe even a spot in the playoffs, will pivot on every game. Only four games remain in the regular season. The Mavs just returned home from a western road trip, where four overtimes were played in two days. We try to figure out what, if anything, we learned about the post-Odom Mavs on this swing.

Jason Kidd recently talked about his desire to play one more year, so we look into what that means in terms of fit on the court, and fit within the cap, based on the highly anticipated summer 2012 free agent season for Dallas. We're finally at the end of the regular season, with only one game remaining against the Atlanta Hawks. Minutes are being managed, and games are still played to win, but only to a degree. The Mavs helped to end the Houston Rockets' playoff hopes earlier this week, before playing Golden State and Chicago in more limited engagements. We get into the key takeaways from all three games, and spend the rest of the first hour covering all manner of intellectual pursuits with TV Voice of the Mavericks and friend of the show Mark Followill. Potential playoff match-ups for the Mavs, wrinkles in the rotation, and several other illuminating topics are on the agenda.

Time to look back, and start looking forward. As brief as the title defense was, it warrants some analysis before we go full-on into what promises to be an active summer for the Mavs. TV Voice of the Mavericks Mark Followill jumps on to talk about where the Mavs fell short this year and how they might start to approach the offseason. The playoffs keep trucking along without the Mavs, which means lots of entertaining nuggets from around the league presented themselves this week, and we wrap up the 2011-2012 season by grading the roster.
