Default DAL/MIN trade

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cvpo7uc

MAVS TRADE:
Vince
Roddy

WOLVES TRADE:
Luke Ridnour
Malcolm Lee

I think Ridnour is a better starting option than DC right now and could even be a guy that we'd want to hang onto as our primary backup for the next few years. Malcolm Lee has the potential to be a very good defender and doesn't make many mistakes (though he isn't much of an offensive player). I think Vince has some value to Minnesota today (as they are clearly aiming to make the playoffs this year) and Roddy has a lot of upside if Adelman can find the right role for him. I've lost hope that he can ever be a consistently productive player on this team (even as a backup).

Thoughts?

I don't see why Minny would do that - Ridnour is worth more to them than Carter.

I don't see why we'd do it other than kneejerking.

Carter has been our best leader with Dirk out and he's been pretty efficient.

Collison has been bad but he's still better than Ridnour. Ridnour may be smarter but he's nowhere near the potential of Collison if we can ever get him trained to our system.

Malcolm Lee is on his way to Europe or another career after his rookie contract.

Why? Just why? Because you don't like Collison and want him gone more than a talented team?

I'd still do this deal. Lee has been playing great the past 5 games.

We should have taken Mo Williams or Devin Harris when we could have had our pick of either. Chatter around the league is Utah needs to dump a big so we could still go get Williams with Millsap if the offer was right (Crowder, Mayo, Kaman salary probably ). Don't know if that's the answer tho. Williams + Sap would look pretty good when Dirk returns tho.

Millsap as slow SF without range or terrible undersized center in the west?

You're probably right. I was thinking Williams would be a huge upgrade and thought he could work well with Dirk spreading the floor. Right under the right system anyway. I think it could work with Brand heading up center. Am I missing something?

I like the idea of trading for Millsap, but not at the expense of Mayo.

Why on Earth would Minnesota trade away it's best three players for scraps like Roddy, the Joneses and an overpaid Marion? Even if Love demanded a trade they could get multiple first rounders and young talent for him alone and they sure as heck wouldn't give away Rubio who is about the only guy they have that sells tickets. I have a counter offer that is on par with yours, but going the other way.

Dallas trades:
Dirk
Mayo
Kaman

Minnesota trades:
Cunningham
Stiesma
Barea
Williams
Amundson

Basically the same trade but with the opposite skew.
