America-- particularly the deep state of America loves war-- even proxy wars with Russia. Heck, we've had a couple already (Afghanistan, Korea, Vietnam). There's a reason both GOP and Dems love this new war. War may actually be the only thing that unites the entrenched of both parties.
Russia sees that a power vacuum is awful (Iraq's got us ISIS) and supports Assad. Ships in billions of dollars in weapons. USA hates Assad and ships in billions of dollars in weapons to oppose. Assad uses chemical agents and now it's really on. Only losers are everyone in Syria (tens of thousands dead, millions have become refugees, all refused asylum here) and the tax payers paying for it all (our small volley of 50 Tomahawks cost 1.41 million each) At least Trump and Hillary are friends now.
