Default Terry for Przybilla, James Jones, Sergio Rodriguez & the No. 13 pick

Portland has too many players and would like to trade its draft pick (No. 13) for an experienced player. Dallas has roster space and needs to get younger. Przybilla would be an adequate back up center, James Jones in an outside shooter that can back up both small forward and shooting guard, Rodriguez is an interesting talent that may be able to back up Kidd.

With the No. 13 pick, Dallas can go for the best available talent in an effort to get younger.

Edited to use grammar.

that would be awesome if we could do that. however i bet it would be more likely that they make a trade for or buy a pick in the late first round to pick up a swingman. brandon rush please.

So, you're saying he'd be a better fit for the Sonics?

(do they make airplanes in Oklahomo City???)

I think Jet is worth more than a backup C. Diop plays better D, and scores about as much, and won't cost Terry. Now if you are talking Prysbilla, Frye, S Rod, and the #13 then I could see Dallas doing it just for the depth, but even then it is shaky and would depend on who is there at 13.

That probably works as well (I checked Przybilla, Frye & #13 for Terry and it does work), but after I thought about it, I couldn't see why Dallas would want Frye--Dirk and Bass have the 4 covered. So I substituted Rodriguez (who I think has a chance to be a very good player one day) and James Jones, who is certainly a useful rotation player.

Frye has the height to play the C against many teams, and more offense than Pryzbilla, Damp and Diop. He also might be a better backup for Dirk, than Bass, IMO.

I'd like to see this deal followed by trading Howard and Stackhouse to Milwaukee for Redd and Villanueva and then signing Pietrus with the MLE. Then fill out the line up with the best of the current or otherwise available free agents or the Mavs 2nd round pick or returning draft picks from last year.

So your Dallas Mavericks are:

C: Dampier, Przybilla
PF: Dirk, Bass, Villanueva
SF: Pietrus, James Jones
SG: Redd, Wright, Eddie Jones
PG: Kidd, Rodriguez

plus 13th pick, and two of the following: Allen, Lue, Barrea, George, 2nd round pick, Terry, Seibutus, other free agent--probably the Mavs will want to keep another point guard

I think this team would be more athletic (Pietrus, Redd, Wright), tougher inside (Przybilla, Villanueva), better shooting (Redd, James Jones, Pietrus) and younger (Pietrus, Rodriguez, 13th pick) then last year's version of the Mavs.

The team would also be versatile with the option of going big (Villanueva at small forward) or small (Dirk at center).

That's pretty much the key right there.

I think i would prefer add wright to the milwaukee trade to get Sessions and remove sergio from the deal, dont get me wrong, i love sergio, and his ability to pass, but i think sessions, has equal passing ability better defensive player and a better scorer, and shooter.
