Default Did Terry missing Game 6 help the Mavs for Game 7?

I think Steve Kerr pointed this out during the first half. It was like the Spurs forgot how to cover the perimeter when Jason was back. In Game 6, they sagged and clogged the lane, limiting any driving lanes and daring the Mavs to shoot from the outside. It took the Spurs a half to adjust after getting down by 20.

I wonder how this game would have played had Terry not been suspended and we lost Game 6 with him. The Spurs D might have played a little different.

Who knows, just a theory.

I think it was psychologically important. The Mavs could easier forget about game 6 thinking that they lost because they missed one player and Terry was extremely fired up (and rested), determined to make up for his faux pas.

At the end of each practice, the Mavs conduct a competition and ring a bell whenever someone makes 20 of 25 3-point attempts.

“He’s always around 23 or 24,” West said. “The bell rings every day.”
