Playoffs GDT: Round 1, Game 3, 5/3/2012, 8:30 pm Central (TNT and Ch 21)
Time to get it done. Now that they're back home, let's see how the second tier players come out and play.
The Mavericks trail the best-of-seven first-round series with the Thunder, 2-0. Only 14 teams in NBA history have come back to win a best-of-seven series after falling behind 2-0, but the 2004-05 Dallas Mavericks were one of the teams to do so. After trailing 2-0 in the first round of the 2005 NBA Playoffs, the Mavericks fought back to defeat the Houston Rockets in seven games. They became one of only three teams in playoff history to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first two games at home (also the 1968-69 Lakers and the 1993-94 Rockets). The last team to come back from a 2-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series was San Antonio in 2008 (came back to beat New Orleans in seven games in the 2008 Western Conference Semifinals). The Mavericks actually came back from a 2-0 hole in a best-of-five series when they won three straight to beat Utah in 2001.
The Thunder recorded a 99-98 win in Game 1 and a 102-99 victory in Game 2, taking the first two games of the series with the Mavericks at home. During the regular season, the Thunder recorded a two-point win (104-102) and a four-point win (95-91) in the two meetings at Oklahoma City on 12/29 and 3/5. Including the regular season, four of the six meetings between the Mavericks and Thunder this year have now been decided by four points or less. In fact, even the second of two preseason meetings between the two clubs on 12/20 was a four-point decision (Oklahoma City won 87-83 at Chesapeake Energy Arena).

Carlisle has said there will be more Marion on Westbrook. I guessing a lineup change with Carter in and West out.

Mavs lost their first two road games in the playoffs last season as well. It worked out well in the end. Just saying.

play
PG: Kidd 35min+
SG: Jet 35min+
SF: Carter 30min+
PF: Marion 35min+
C: Dirk 30min+
move the ball and attack the basket (put their bigs in foul trouble)
Wood, Mihnimi, West, Wright waste too many possessions on offense and their D is overrated (compared to Dirk and Jet) vs. OKC.
Dirk needs to rebound well and avoid fouls of coure.

What about trying Roddy on Westbrook? He´s quick and athletic, maybe he can slow him down.

In recent years where the Mavs were down 0-2 after going on the road to a favored teams (2008 and 2009), they played considerably better after coming back to Dallas. They lost to Denver in 2009 on that three by Melo, but they still played a lot better game than they had in Denver. And in 2008, they won against the Hornets after getting smashed the first two games.
If they get a similar home boost this time, there's no reason they shouldn't win tonight, if not Game 4 also.

Is it sad that I want the Mavs to lose so that Korby does a Power Hour at the Musers Campout?
Besides, an 0-3 comeback for the Mavs would be more exciting to watch!

Why do people from Texas think OKC is full of hicks? I agree, there are a lot of hicks outside of Tulsa/OKC, but not in the city. And.....you guys are from Texas....LOL

1) There's hicks everywhere. Oklahoma, TX, Utah, New York, etc. Trust me. Hicks know no boundaries.
2) do you guys see Marion guarding Westbrook any? Certainly his length could contest those pull up jumpers well, but at what cost - leaving someone else on Durant or Westbrook driving past Marion?
For the record: I'm no bandwagon fan. I've been with every game since Robert Swift was one of our hot prospects at the C position - long before we got that stud Nenad. And - I posted here last year - before AND after Dallas handed it to us.

Which means Durant will light up carter like a festival.
If Carlisle would do it,it would be another way for me to be dissapointed with him in this series.
Marion should remain solely on Durant and up his ass.
Durant is shooting terribly for a reason,it's called The Matrix, and there's no reason to change that.
Besides, the fact Westbrook is making is shots doesn't mean they're doing something wrong.
I would much rather he would take the perimeter shot than take it to the hole,he just got on a role.
I said it before and i'd say it again,Roddy is ideal to guard Westbrook.
He's just as quick, and has freakishly long arms to make him take tough shots.
The thing is,i don't even know if putting him in right now after messing with his confidence is such a smart move.
Roddy should have been given his shot in game 1 when West looked like crap, and that's on Carlisle.
