First intelligent call...But juice shows "good" field presence again.

I can't believe I wasted part of my life on this game.
Once again, Jones doesnt' get out of bounds. I'd love to cane that dumb piece of s*** right now.

He should have caught the pass...got the first down and immediately headed out of bounds.

I continue to be unimpressed with juice.

The Cowboys offense and coaching staff find another way to screw up a good defensive effort.

Well, they simply aren't protecting him well. They really had it going a little bit in the second half, though, before penalties, non-called interference, and a ridiculous deep ball on third-and-one shut it down.

Bledsoe didn't play well. Juice just isn't very good.

We need a new offensive line. Those guys up front are horrible. They let the Giants score a touchdown. Jones may not be great, but I see absolutely no holes for him to run through. That's where I want to see our first pick going towards.
Jones should have gotten out of bounds, especially on the first one. Not that it matters, Cowboys didn't really deserve to this one.

I agree. Atleast Quincy could run from a rusher. Bledsoe has to have the slowest feet in the NFL. I mean its like he can't move at all. I don't put this game solely on Bledsoe. 3rd and 1 and we puit the ball in Bledsoe's hands. Parcells contributed to this loss just as much as Bledsoe did. All Bledsoe did was run the play that the Tuna called.

midway through the 4th quarter, 4th and 1, at the Cowboys' forty, down by a touchdown.. My video game instincts tell me to go for it.
anyway, they should have run the ball on 3rd and 1.

I don't know. That's sort of a cop out to me. When the Cowboys were playing great ball in the first half of the season wasn't that due to the offensive line? Plenty of holes for our running backs to run. Great protection for Bledsoe. I don't know i'm just not willing to lay blame on the line that was great for us in the first half of the season.

Plenty of holes to run at the beginning of the season? Perhaps, they were there but Julius didn't seem to exploit many.

Can't honestly say I expected the Cowboys to win today--even took the Giants in fantasy pick-em--but I can honestly say I didn't expect that. What a horrible game.

How exactly can you not blame the line? How is it a cop out? Where is the great protection that Drew is getting? Sure they were pretty good for a while. But that was when they still had Flozell Adams, a borderline Pro Bowler year after year. Now they have Rob Pettiti and Torrin Tucker starting at the Tackle Spots. Drew Bledsoe is getting knocked around, there are no holes for the running game, and defensive tackles are getting to the ball on handoffs at the same time as our running back. You can't possibly tell me the offensive line isn't playing horribly.

The offensive line is playing horribly. Drew is letting it affect him even when he gets time. Julius isn't very good, even when he gets the ball in the open field. Just look at the difference between Tiki Barber and Julius, it's night and day. One's an upper tier running back with break-out ability and ability to spot a hole, the other is a spare.

They've played horrible for the past two weeks but I believe that was due to playing 2 teams with great defensive lines. I'm by no means saying they are a great offensive line but IMO to say we need to replace them is a cop out. They aren't the reason we are playing horrible. They don't control horrible play calling. They don't control Bledsoe's horrible play. Maybe you can credit them for Julius' horrible play but they seemed fine when he was out and Barber and Thompson were looking like pro bowlers.

I didn't think Julius played like a spare in the second half, other than not getting out of bounds on that last screen. He looked like a strong downhill runner to me.

Whoa. Julius Jones is a spare now lol? He wasn't last season or the beginning of this season was he? I think its a bit early to call him a spare but one thing I don't like from him is that since he's come back he's running like Troy Hambrick. Seems like he's always gonna fall to the floor. I hate that type of running style. He falls even with no contact.

I'm not going to sit here and say that Julius is playing great. I kind of thought he looked decent in the few opportunities he got in open field today. Still, Julius isn't an electric open-field runner, that's just not the type of back he is. Whenever he does run the ball, it seems like every time he reaches the line, he is met by 5 tacklers. I'd still like to see him playing behind a good offensive line.

"We" aren't saying he's a spare...I'm saying he's a spare. I have not been impressed with him from day one. He just doesn't make people miss...
He tries to run hard and he will stick he head into the line, but he doesn't seem to see seams and creases.. I don't see a decent cutback, I don't seem him doing anything that makes me go, wow..he's a championship back. Nada..
I don't see how you can explain taking Juice out in short yardage situations and replacing him with a rookie who's only 6 pounds or so heavier.

Another tough loss . Julius might not have run that great but the line was getting killed, so it's hard to blame him. Jones also did have like 90 yards receiving which was a game high. This game is on our O line they didn't get it done, and Bledsoe had some questionable decisions.

Whoa, this is a little bit of revisionist history here. Tyson Thompson had exactly one good game, he didn't even have 4 yards a carry that game, less than Julius had before he went out with his ankle injury in the first half. Barber had two pretty good games, although one of them was against Arizona, who my Aunt Muriel could get 60 yards against. The offense as a whole haven't played great lately, but I think it starts with the offensive line, who haven't really given great run-blocking for most of the season, and lately haven't done a great job protecting the passer. Bledsoe isn't blameless here, but I don't think he should be getting all the blame right now.

Really, dude? I use to think that being able to "see" the seam in the defense was JJ's main strength. I've never been impressed with his ability to make tacklers miss or anything, but the homer in me really tried to believe he had almost "emmitt-like" vision. But of late, I can't say I've been impressed with his overall decision-making in the back-field. Way too many times this year, I've watched him get tackled for either a loss or a marginal gain at best when it seemed like he could have made something out of the play. I figured that it was just an issue of coaching, but maybe he really doesn't have the clairvoyant-vision needed in a back.

Yup...really. I can't figure out what his strengths are to be honest except I think he's strong of body and average. He doesn't seem to be breakaway fast, shifty to make anyone miss, and he doesn't seem to ever make something out of nothing (barber in short yardage situations says that the coach agrees). He seems to catch the ball okay out of the backfield, but usually the first guy who catches him makes the tackle. I don't think he strikes fear into anyone, so everyone tees off on drew.

I think that extra weight he put on over the offseason might be affecting him too. Doesn't it look like he bulked up to Emmitt-at-the-end-of-his-career size in only his second year in the league? Emmitt didn't play that well at that weight, but that was probably a function of his age. However, Julius' legs may not have caught up with his overall mass he gained since he gained it in only a couple of months. What is a fact is that the kid put up some lofty numbers his rookie year, and I'm going to try to remain hopeful that it wasn't a fluke.

Julius still did manage to account for almost 80% of the yards gained on offense (although he got a few yards there at the end when the Giants sagged their defense and left the screen open).

Yeah, I heard that Julius put on a good 10-15 pounds over the offseason, and he doesn't seem to be as quick as I remember him being last year. Maybe it would be a good idea to shed a few of those pounds in the offseason. Like you I still am hopeful that he can get back to the form he showed in his rookie year, but he hasn't really looked great this year. I do think some of his troubles can be attributed to the offensive line's struggles.
