Wow, I didn't think tonight was bad at all.

Syler is back
Hiro has a dad twist
Clair finds her mom who has a "fire power" (which for sure was the reason of the fire that "killed her daughter") I wonder how that shaped her moms personality over the last 14-15 years.
And the teaching of peter with the invisible guy will begin next week.

I thought that was a really good episode. Oh yeah, and the hornedrimmedglasses dad suddenly looks like a nice guy again - AND he eyed the chimes like he knows what's going on with the hatian guy. Should be interesting.

just another building episode...I'm ready to start "uncovering" stuff...not just lead up to it.

I too liked the episode. Didn't really uncover new ground but I don't know a lot was told in yesterday's episode. Sylar's out, HRG is starting to believe Claire didn't lose her memory, Claire finds her mother, the Invisible guy is beginning to teach Peter how to use his powers, the kid just told his father(forgot their names) that he too has powers, Hiro's father is in town. Next week if done right should be the episode everyone has been waiting for. I wonder what's so special about Claire's father that they had to wait another episode to show him?

I thought Peter was heading out to the Arizona desert. Did I miss something.

One big reason this episode wasn't knocked out of the park is because a big hunk of time was spent with dad and son, the two worst actors in the worst plotline of all. Seriously, can they do any more with 3 characters and still seem to do so little?

I'm not convinced that invisible guy is going to teach anyone anything, or that he ever has taught anyone anything. He won't be specific about how many others he knows, or who they were or anything.

and I'm getting a little tired of the whole "it's all in the family" bit. Sure, they are genetic mutations, but are we to assume that they've been around forever? I thought the whole point was that these super-power mutations were a new thing in human history.

And frankly, I hope Sylar removes HRG's brain.

The only real shocking thing was that Hiro's father was the one chasing them in the parking lot. The Sylar thing.... did anyone think that he was dead? It was so obvious and non-climactic... just disappointing.

Cut him up, then have his limbs reassemble themselves, or something shocking like that... then we will know he is a bad arse. It just seemed forced, rushed, or something.

And for some reason I get the feeling that the fire mother isn't really Claire's mother. Maybe I'm wrong.... but I don't think so. I think she's some plant by the bad guys.

Good call. Something seemed up with her. It's hard to tell, though, when something doesn't seem right because of poor production value or because a character is not being truthful.

Some of you guys are awfully critical, the only complaint i can honestly think of for the show this week is how bad the "walk through the wall" dad's acting is. Other than that I was really entertained.

UL You're the second one I've heard say Nathan is Claire's dad, what makes you say that? I don't see the connection at all.

I think it's someone we already know. That would be awful cool if it turned out to be Nathan.... then the storyline would be that Peter saved his Niece, even though he had no idea it was his Niece.

Nathan is a cheating bastard. So it's not too shocking that he would sleep around with some woman in Texas. That's also why I think Nathan will be a bad guy. He's a cheater so his heart isn't good. He obviously cares for his brother, but I think in the end he will be a bad guy.

On the father of healgirlthatshotinayear (Claire), the reason I know it's someone we know is because they teased us too much about him in the previews for next week without showing his face.

Something I'm missing... Peter wants invisobumguy to show him how to control his powers, like he does... when/how did invisobumguy reveal that he could 'control' his invisibility??

I think it's really the hornedrimmedglasses guy. He looks like he really genuinely cared about her in that scene where Claire said she didn't need the bears or their "talks" anymore. I think he knows he's losing her, so he's going to have to come "clean" soon.

Also, his bodyguard guy has no clue (or didn't want to say) about who her dad was, so that's another clue maybe.

I agree about Nathan being a bad guy though.

i also thought that the dad would be Nathan. just a hunch. something about the way she said "our daughter found me" in the preview... points to her not being in touch with the father for some time.

and the mom annoyed me to no end on the phone call with claire. something was up with her voice...

but yeah, a pretty underwhelming episode, mainly cause they spent so much time on DL and Micah. DL's acting is pretty bad...

24 is going overboard with being too politically correct. They don't want to offend any Muslims so they create an entire plot about how racial profiling is wrong. Stupid.

Also, they are spending way too much time with the mindreadingguy and his wife. That better go somewhere quick because his character doesn't fit anymore.

I think she's legit. She seemed awfully shaken up on her end of the phone and if she was a plant, there wouldn't be a need for her to appear so shocked by the news when no one could see her.

Thanks for reminding me about that... I was wondering the same dang thing. It appears Peter only has the powers when in the vicinity of another special person, so what is there to control? And what did he see from IBG that showed control. That was a plot hole pretty large.

wow. I just looked at the online comic book - it looks like they are delivering the entire sublot of the radioactive man by way of the comic book. That's crappy. They should place thoughtman's marriage online instead.

Nathan is a cheating bastard. So it's not too shocking that he would sleep around with some woman in Texas. That's also why I think Nathan will be a bad guy. He's a cheater so his heart isn't good. He obviously cares for his brother, but I think in the end he will be a bad guy.

On the father of healgirlthatshotinayear (Claire), the reason I know it's someone we know is because they teased us too much about him in the previews for next week without showing his face.
to be fair, U2, I doubt Nathan was married nearly 16 years ago...

I was impressed that the wife guessed Nathan while the cheerleader was talking to the Haitian.

Who else could it be? Linderman? Why hide his face? HRG? Maybe, but that'd be a letdown to me. I guess soon after we'd find out about HRG's powers. Matthew Perry? That would complette the cross-over crap. But I'd stop watching.

Papa Shuresh? He's still alive?

I theory before I saw the trailer for next week was that glassesdaddy was the one who could cancel out people's powers...while the Haitian could only wipe memory...but in the trailer of next week it appears that Sylar has his powers around glassesdaddy...so that might be debunked.

I actually hope it isn't Nathan and would prefer glassesdaddy...it would explain his intense love for Claire as actual love and not just a "using" love...

but my bet is that it will be Nathan...it seems that way to me.

He may not have been married 16 years ago... but he was 4 episodes ago when he slept with hotgoodbadgirlthatkicksmajorbutt, otherwise known as Nikki/Jessica.

He's a frickin' cheater.

The cop hasn't been too exciting the past couple of episodes, but he's one of my favorite characters. He just seems so genuinely nice. Hopefully he gets interesting as he tries to crack down on claire's glassesdaddy.

I like the cop too, I think the best part about him is it's going to be seriously awesome when his power comes in contact with certain other powers (*cough*Niki/Jessica*cough*). I want him to meet up w/Peter again too. But mostly? I want him to get away from his useless wife. She better be important for her to still be around...it better be good.
