With the Mavs playing so many games in a short span, any win is a good win. Dirk, gotta hit the FT's, but he was solid overall. Stack, nice game on the glass.

Winning a game like this should help to create some momentum. Dampier´s knee still seems to reduce his mobility and Finley looked tired in the second half. With the exception of his ft-shooting Dirk had a good game especially in the defense. The way the Mavs played I´m a bit worried about the game tomorrow. At least they won´t play in the morning when most Mavs are still sleepy...
Ugly game - good win

The next game will be very tough. Four games in five days, Dallas to the east coast, back to Dallas and off to the west coast. Each game in a different time zone and a different time of day. The Clippers will be tougher at home and their last loss to Dallas will be fresh in their memory.

Dallas is getting a little short of players. Daniels out; Howard questionable; both of our two best centers playing hobbled. That means Finley and Stackhouse are going to see big minutes back to back, as well as Dirk and Henderson. The only position that isn't heavily impacted is point guard. But even there, AJ played Terry very heavy minutes today. I think we'll need to see some time from Booth at center and DA at guard tomorrow--maybe with Terry at the two guard to spell Finley & Stack.

If the Mavs win tomorrow, then you've got to be impressed. They'd be on a pace to win 59 games this year, and completed an impressive four-game sweep.

But the Spurs--take away the Mavs games against them and the Mavs have been as good as anybody in the league. The Mavs need to beat them in the final matchup because I think they'll meet the Spurs in the second round--and the winner will be NBA champs.

Only good thing about tommorrow is that it's moving east to west. Moving west to east is tougher. The mavs playing today at noon then tommorrow at basicallly 9:30 at least get two-seven more hours than normal.

Dirk's defense in this game was awesome...and some of those "and-1s" he was making were ridiculous. Oh yeah...did someone say CLUTCH?

My first time so close!

Very lethargic game from the Mavs. Too many TOs and too many missed FTs from Dirk but he more than redeemed himself with his defense and of course his incredible shooting. He practically won the game single-handedly in the last 2 min.

Terry shot well but with Boykins guarding him, I expected him to shoot over him all game which unfortunately didn't occur. He also didn't push the ball much settling too often for half-court play.

Stack's shot selection was horrendous but he was active on the boards and played good defense on Melo in the 2nd half.

This is where the depth of the team has been really nice. They're working through injuries to multiple players (and have been all season long), and they still have enough bodies to compete. A lot of teams, even good ones, can't absorb even one significant injury (e.g. Phoenix, Seattle).

The Mavs will need to get more out of Harris and something out of Booth tomorrow night, I would imagine. They can't continue to play their 30-something swingmen high minutes and not pay the price down the road.

Interesting take about the Spurs. Clearly, that is the team standing between Dallas and where they want to be.

Imagine if Phoenix was missing JJ, had Amare and Hunter hobbled, and were getting inconsistent minutes out of Marion.

That's basically what we are facing. Inconsistent minutes from our starting SF, hobbled centers, missing an important swingman piece.

Dirk is the man!! Man, if he can hit 5 more foul shots, he would have scored 40. hehe

Didn't watch the game but sounds like Mavs was battling hard.

Howard got injured again?
