I actually disagree. I thought Burke played really well for last season and is the kind of veteran guy you want in the playoffs.

Broekhoff's biggest weakness was Rick not playing him...
that being said, not sure when/where Burke gets minutes - i suppose he's the break glass in case of emergency option if JJB gets hurt?
I sure hope Boban gets some run as a big

Potato/Tomato
If either have to play extended minutes we are screwed anyway. I just liked the fact that Broekhoff had a skill that could help you win A game somewhere down the line

Of course the Burke we are seeing now is AT LEAST a MLE kind of guy. Not a guy who is a free agent available for the bubble

If we can somehow move Wright and #31 for basically nothing I could see the Mavs signing Burke to something close to what Wright got.
If Burke becomes too expensive for us we should seriously consider signing Markus Howard if he doesn't get drafted. That dude can flat out score like Burke.

I was worried about Burke getting too expensive for the long term Dallas plans until I watched his NBA video after game 4 and then heard his interview yesterday on the Ticket.
The dude made it crystal clear that he loves the organization, loves how the system fits his skills, loves his role and wants to make Dallas his long term professional home. He was humble and real about it.
I have a very good feeling.
