Default Powell assigned to D-League
DALLAS (Feb. 26, 2006) — The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have assigned forward Josh Powell to the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA Developmental League (D-League). The Flyers were assigned as the Mavericks’ D-League affiliate for the 2005-06 season.

Powell was terrible yesterday. I hope howard is okay. Marshall has a similar build to Howard.

But Marshall is as thin as a rail. Marshall seems to have moves and knowledge, but he MUST bulk up to be in the NBA. He made it well in D-League, but he won't in the NBA with that body. I expect Josh Powell to really excell in D-League due to his athletic ability, experience, and size.

I'd be very interested to know if this was a planned thing, to get them both time in the D-League, or if they think Marshall might actually be a nice reserve in case of injury, or if they found something they want Powell to work on.

It shows that the mavs also think they need more swingmen g types and not forwards. I think they figure dirk/killer/josh/jerry can handle the forward spots, Josh Powell was a bigger guy and they weren't finding times where he could make a difference.

It's all about Howard, I think.

I just hope that Powell can continue his career of cheering from the bench and being a backup dancer for Dirk and Terry when they go cruising
