Yeah no Gordon or Powell for us. Magic and Raptors holding everything up because they have huuge asking prices for Gordon, Lowry and Powell

Here's the deal: The Bulls land Nikola Vucevic and Al Farouq Aminu for Otto Porter, Wendell Carter Jr., and two first-round picks. Huge addition for Chicago, who remains in pursuit of Lonzo Ball. The Magic are moving toward a rebuild now with Aaron Gordon deal on deck.

Wow if the Bulls get Ball their lineup is going to be nice.

The Magic were telling people they weren't moving Vucevic LOL

Hoping neither them or Portland end up with Gordon

Don't want either one of those two teams adding a defender

Boston is in serious talks to acquire Orlando guard Evan Fournier for two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

Seems like the Mavs could match that, but then again I am betting the Celtics are going to use their Hayward trade exception.

Mavs are rolling in the past week because they have a top-5 defense.

Fournier cant defend a chair. We would pretty much go back to last season...

Pro-tip, make sure to Google Evan Fournier's full name and not just his last.

That's a good get for Boston.

Yep, said in another thread this doesn't do much to help Boston's defense. Definitely fills a need they had on offense with shooting.

I found this funny who remembers Roddy B and the Mavs telling us this

MARCH 25: ‘WE LOVE OUR BOYS IN BLUE’ And there is nothing wrong with that ... to a point.

We will be visiting with GM Donnie Nelson shortly after today’s 2 p.m. CT deadline, and if Dallas hasn’t made a deal?

We guarantee Donnie will - again - utter those six words.

The danger of this, of course, is threefold.

1, it is the overrating of “our guys,” a bad habit dating back to “untouchable” Roddy B. (Donnie actually suggested on Wednesday that the Mavs top-nine rotation might deserve to remain untouched.

2, it is the overreacting to the moment, as exhibited in the TV broadcast of Dallas’ win at Minny in which our buddy Derek Harper, raving about the performance of Porzingis, was dumbfounded by any suggestion that the Mavs would dare trade such a brilliant talent.

3, it is the overvaluation of “chemistry,” an important and delicate thing, no doubt. But should chemistry override talent?

Not if the right deal is on the table, Because you know what? If Dallas trades for Player X, and he fulfills the plan, guess what?

That newcomer will also be one of “Our Boys In Blue.” And we will love him plenty.

I guess if you think his defense is any worse than our other perimeter players not named DFS or Richardson.

But for just 2nd round picks I still think that's a helluva steal by Boston and anyone who begs to differ just haven't watched Fournier play much.

Mavs are a streaky 3-PT team and having one more guy really couldn't hurt this team IMO

Just depends on your expectations for this year. NO chance in hell we win a playoff series with our rebounding issues. It is just compounded in the playoffs where intensity is high and teams bear down on that glaring weakness.

John Collins or Aaron Gordon likely help us there. Even Drummond in the right matchups, although I am more skeptical given his limitations.

If we are good pushing for a 6-8 seed and aiming for free agency moves to put together a true contender, that works too. I am having a great time watching Luka grow over the season and losing bets on how KP will perform game to game.

He's better than Brunson and THJ on defense.

Don't buy into the hype watch the games he's a solid team defender. Orlando before injuries has always been a solid defensive team and he never really got exposed even in the playoffs.

Your making up stuff based on perception dude.

He's also more than just a shooter.

He can handle the ball as a secondary playmaker on offense and his passing is underrated.

I can assure you he'd be no worse than Brunson or THJ on that end of the floor and basically a combination of the two on offense.

Quit acting like if someone doesn't 100% agree with the Mavs front office it means they hate the organization.

That's like James Dolan always kicking out fans or ex players because they aren't 100% happy with his product

100% agree

I mean if your content with 6th or 8th seed than sure the Mavs have exceeding your expectations and regardless of what they do in the playoffs you'll be happy.

There's nothing wrong with that way of thinking.

But if you expected a little more after last years playoffs like a jump up into the top 4 out west then obviously your going to feel like the team needs some help to reach that level of play.

I'm a die hard fan and it frustrates me seeing 1st round exits year after year.

I'm the same way with the Cowboys on paper they look like a team that should perform much better than their record year after year.

Both franchises used to be very aggressive in going after it (Championships) but sometimes both franchises do make you scratch your head because they are always telling us we love our boys in blue and the process stays in neutral not really competing for anything.

The one thing I really hate about the NBA now days is when teams tell you a talented guy can't fit their system or a certain guy doesn't fit the timeline of our younger players.

Then 2-3 years later your still at the same position all over again treading water

Denver has done a terrific job replacing Plumlee and Grant from last years roster with McGee and Gordon.

The lost of those two players weakened their rotation and now they are right back intact.

I think they are a threat to the Lakers, Jazz and Clippers now

Yeah that Gordon deal is deadly. They will be a force in the playoffs. There is no chance anyone watching our team can think we have a shot against the Lakers, Jazz, or Denver. LAC are talented but mentally weak (thanks PG).

Lakers or Clippers are getting Drummond via buyout so really I guess it doesn't matter what Dallas does there's no way they can matchup with Drummond + AD

Drummond + Zubac is just going to kill us on the glass in a playoff series regardless of what Paul George does.

I'm just tired of the idea of Cap money being saved or expiring contracts (james Johnson) that we are told can be used later to acquire better pieces.

Hopefully they just get better being able to draft players that aren't in the top 5 gifted to them (Luka) because it looks like they are going to need to hit a few late round picks in order to get where they want to get in the next 2-3 years.

Blazers and Nuggets moving forward with excellent upgrades = Mavs falling further behind.

Barry Jackson: Bjelica deal confirmed, per source. Heat has another stretch PF option. Allows Miami to trade Olynyk today if he’s needed in a deal. – via Twitter flasportsbuzz
Trade, Nemanja Bjelica, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings

Adrian Wojnarowski: Philadelphia is acquiring OKC’s George Hill for Tony Bradley, Terrance Fergusson and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Austin Rivers goes to OKC as part of a three-way deal.

I wonder what Orlando wants for Quintin Ross?

Can someone explain to me why did the Mavs pick up James Johnson expiring contract again?

I think you mean Terrence

Doesn't he have a few more years left on his deal?

He's a solid player but i think his longer term deal would stop the Mavs from targeting him.

Probably cheaper to acquire than Buddy Hield I suppose

To get off Delon Wrights contract. We could use him to trade if there is one we like available or just let it expire and have space in the off season instead of paying Delon to sit.

Interesting... OKC now has Al Horford, Moses Brown, Tony Bradley, Mike Muscala, and Isiah Robey at the 5.

I did, thanks. Pretty sure Terrance Ross went to SMU. Dude can shoot the 3. Wouldn’t be the worst option off the bench. No idea what his contract looks like though.

This is what Donnie said going into the deadline and what type of roster he's trying to build around Luka.

Notice shooters and defenders were listed and then go through the list of those types of players who were available at the deadline.

Be your own judge and if you think there weren't any quality guys available or attainable with our assets I won't debate it because we all have our own opinions

Mavs GM Donnie Nelson on
@1053thefan
, a day before the trade deadline: "Don't get your hopes up, boys. We like this young crew."

The Mavs GM talked in detail about the team’s process in making deals and how they weigh acquiring an upgrade versus the continuity of their current squad. Owner Mark Cuban noted continuity as the reason he did not see the Mavericks making a trade before the deadline.

Nelson discussed the types of players that the Mavericks want to surround Luka Doncic with going forward. He noted shooters, shot blockers, and defenders with switchability while making a point that the Mavericks have those pieces on their roster already. It could be an insight into the Mavs plans to fill their cap space in the 2021 offseason.

They have rebounded nicely. Still can’t believe Jerami left that team to go play in Detroit and lose every night for the foreseeable future. If he’d stayed with Denver they would’ve kept those assets, which arent exactly nothing, and just payed more tax.

Quinton went to SMU. I think Terrence played for the Washington Huskies in college.
