"Overall you have to say though that Dirk's inquiry is well reasoned. He gets fewer touches without Jason Kidd and his shooting percentages also go south."

And now the question is...why. ?

Why does Roddy or West pass less than Kidd. ? IMO both guys use the minutes with Dirk on the floor to pad thier own stats. "Pad" is probably too harsh, but once Dirk checks in, guys like Roddy and West almost immediately get better looks on offense, and of course they try to capitalize from it (and use Dirk more as their personal screen setter and decoy). And this is where Dirk should be more vocal and remind Roddy or West that a higher % shot for them is still a worse option than going through him...

Kidd on the other hand does not care about his individual numbers...

You hyperbole. It's a problem well recognized by posters on this board and certainly by the Mavs as well, but I wouldn't accuse them "padding their stats."

It's a strange dynamic. More than ever Kidd's worth on offense completely depends on Dirk making shots. Whenever he doesn't, Kidd is basically useless. When you go with West or Roddy, which can create their own shots, you sacrifice touches for Dirk though. Should be noted that Dirk actually gets more assisted makes with West and Roddy on the floor, more catch and shoot J's. With Kidd, they post him up a lot.

Yes, you are right.

But honestly, if i were in Roddy's position* (sceptical coach and fan base) i would also use the rare minutes with Dirk to pad my own stats and fill boxscore. Such behaviour is also part of this "strange dynamic".

*the same goes for Jet and West (contract years)...

They simply need to find a good balance between passing and scoring..

Wow not one person has come out a said it??

JET is obviously the reason we lost...come on people. You know the drill by now.

Didnt watch the game, but from the sound of it Dirk had a bad last play. Teh team is still in good position. They just gotta stay focused and get IN.

From there they might get a breath of fresh air and start palying well.

GOOO MAVS

Do you have any good "fake moon landing" theories?

Ohh and lets call this what it is. Dirk and Jet kept us in it....Dirk had a POOR decision there at the end. It is what it is and the best make them. Now lets STOP with the excuses and trying to find reasons or justification. Sometimes its just that simple. BAD PLAY...we move on.

Since you always try so hard to disagree with me on everything (which is pretty cute to be honest)...so let's say, there was indeed a moon landing.

Now disagree, and give me your theory...but plz a nice one.
