I really feel like we need to trade THJ even with the game he is having tonight. We have too much guard depth. Hardy comes in and changes the game.

Tremendous character win for Dallas, easily the best of the year in my book.
No Kyrie, Luka didnt have to be superhuman tonight. We got a lot of very good play from the bulk of our team tonight.
4-0 is very nice!

If DJJ keeps playing like this, then we are contenders.

Maxi get hurt? I?d really like to see Holmes get off the bench soon to see what he can do if Maxi is out.

It's all about the rebounds IMO. Luka finally doesn't have to grab them all by himself with Lively here now. We're 13 in rebounds per game. Big difference.
And THJ has been the second best player on the team if we're being honest. Who woulda thought that? He says it's because of the faster pace. Whatever works.

Ugly game until crunch time. We played really good defense, rebounded and hit big shots. This is really good for a young team. Winning close games by defense and executing offensively is what wins playoff games. All good experience.

Not crazy about Luka playing 40 min a game (the last 2 games).
The 7 offensive rebounds were huge by Lively.
Luka being hounded with double teams the whole game.
Grant- 25 PTS, 5 REB
THJ- 24 PTS, 3 REB
Luka- 18 PTS, 10 AST, 7 REB
DJJ- 17 PTS, 5 REB
Hardy- 9 PTS
Lively- 7 PTS, 13 REB, 6 AST
He has a team-best +34 plus-minus after tonight?s 13-rebound, 6-assist
DP- 5 PTS
Seth- 4 PTS, 3 REB
Josh- 3 PTS, 3 REB
G.Williams - ?We have, what, 78 more games to go? I?m not focused on the 4-0 ? I?m focused on Denver on Friday?
Mavs closing lineup tonight was
Luka Doncic
Jaden Hardy
Josh Green
Grant Williams
Dereck Lively II
That?s an average age of 22 years old
No. 1 in the West. MAVS WIN!!!!!

Grant going 7-9 on threes was the catalyst for the eventual win.
Luka did not need to play 40 minutes last night

I'm not crazy about Luka playing high minutes, but what do you do with Irving out? Gotta trust Exum and Hardy a little more. They can till in for 5 of those minutes easily.
Another small nitpick is the fact that Green still doesn't play well with Luka. At least not with the eye test. Their games just don't seem to compliment each other. Green still plays good team ball and defense, but his offensive game just doesn't seem to mesh with Luka. It's really bizarre and hard to figure out exactly why.

Totally agree about the Luka/Green mesh. I really like Green but can't wait for him to play with Kyrie.

Green and Luka is definitely a thing. Lively and Kyrie are also a thing.
Kyrie and Lively will resolve itself as they get more PT together.
Green and Luka have played together for years and there is still something very wrong there.

Is Maxi's injury serious? Guess we'll be seeing some Marcus Morris. At least that forces Kidd to play Lively more minutes.

I know, he got at least 3 where he was cutting into the paint, gets a pass and swings it into the opposite corner for an open look. Kid has a good feel for the game. If the double is coming, it is usually from the corner, he barely looks and moves the ball into the open guy. No double, it's a rim run.

Marcus just got shipped back home to Philly. Markieff. I just read up on their bios, Marcus is an Eagle fan and Markieff a Cowboy fan.
Hopefully Lively eats up the Kleber minutes....then again never know with Kidd.

lol I can't keep up with the two since neither play. Marcus, Markief,...whatever. One might play sooner than the other...I guess.

Saw on twitter that the only comparable injury to Maxi's was Marshon Brooks. He missed 6 games.

I've been one of Green's biggest supporters but am beginning to think we should start thinking about moving him for another wing or even Capela.
Green just looks too timid when playing with Luka and I'm beginning to think this Dexter Dennis kid might bring exactly what we need to develop into Luka's ideal sidekick. I also read somewhere that DD and Luka are becoming good buddies.

He should come off the bench tbh, its clear he and luka will never be what we want it to be.

Kyrie+Luka, on the other hand are incredible together.
Luka is ball-dominant and is really good at making non-ballhandlers better
Kyrie is less ball-dominant and is better at making other ball-handlers better.

Well, Green's impact comes on the defensive side. I guess if the plan is to have him make an impact on scoring then yes move him to the bench. But he is not complaining about only getting a few shots per game and doesn't bog down the offense. Once he learns to not over commit when driving to the lane then his offense will improve.
It might be a bit risky but maybe a move for J Isaac if the Magic would deal him. Banchero is going to play a ton of minutes at PF and they have Carter at center. Maybe he could be the next coming of Antonio McDyess who was injured so much but eventually stayed healthy. Isaac bring the length and size and versatility the Mavs do not have to PF and small ball center except for Maxi who is now getting hurt just as much. They seem to have an upcoming team and Gary Harris just isn't producing like he did in Denver as a defender or 3 point shooter. Holmes and THJ for Isaac and Harris?
The biggest issue in gettong Orlando to buy in may be Harris is expiring and Isaac is not gauranteed next year which could be 30 mil off the books for a team.
Also, Carter got hurt. How long? So Holmes might be of use for them for a while.

Green could be more agressive offensively but he hustles and makes a lot of plays that dont show up in box scores. He passes well and typically shoots open shots well. Im not convinced that josh and luka are bad fit. It would be a different story if Josh was taking lots of shots or bad shots. Its easier to take a handful more shots per game than asking someone like Hardy or THJ to not constantly let it fly.
